School Profile : University Of Alabama Essay

Out of all of the skin care products in the world, your bathroom cabinet needs to be filled with products researched and designed by me. When I entered high school, I discovered my passion for selecting lip sticks, lip glosses, lotions, perfumes, and makeup foundations. You name it. After learning about the connections between the information in my chemistry class and these items, a light bulb went off! I maintained an A average in chemistry throughout the whole year! Additionally, in 2014, I became a student in the Academy of Engineering and Technology, which also heightened my interests in chemistry. In a science fair at that academy, there was a chemistry course where we made colorful slime, and during that process, I learned that I get an adrenaline rush when I am mixing different chemicals together to see what the outcome is. Majoring in chemistry at Norfolk State University will definitely prepare me for a very successful future in chemistry! My ultimate goal is to conduct research and development for chemical cosmetics. I plan to obtain employment at the greatest companies in the world such as L'Oréal and Avon.

I aspire to attend the Clark Atlanta University because it is a symbol for past and future generations of educational and operational excellence. Clark Atlanta University is the hub of African American leadership and educational expansion, and with the constant policing of the community and poaching of black culture in today’s society, it is significant that I achieve an education that represents myself and the world with which I am familiar and intend to change for the better.

Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) are institutions of higher education in the United States that were established before 1964. As amended by The Higher Education Act of 1965, a part B institution refers to any “Historically Black college or university that was established prior to 1964, whose principal mission was, and is, the education of Black Americans, and that is accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency or association determined by the Secretary to be a reliable authority as to the quality of training offered or is, according to such an agency or association, making reasonable progress toward accreditation.” Though in 1837 Cheyne University of Pennsylvania and 1854 Lincoln University (Pennsylvania) had been established for Black education, Black Colleges and Universities became recognized by the United States Government in the 1890’s.

Nestled into the heart of the college town Starkville is Mississippi State. This university offers its pupils a total of 175 different degree programs to choose from their eight academic departments. To the east and across the state line is rival college, the University of Alabama. Here students have a garden of degree programs to pick from; 230 programs to be exact. All of these programs are administered through 12 distinct departments. Both schools boast an impressive repertoire when it comes to a diverse range of study programs.

The Ultimate HBCU Experience  My colleges and I are well prepared for this scholastic year. We were able to attend the Tailor Made Retreat this past weekend and it was amazing I've learned in 3 days what some people may never learn in a lifetime and for that I'm grateful  Thanks for this wonderful experience, exposure and most importantly growth. We were challenge to accomplish a lot and with the great team work we were able to complete each and every task. Although, it was very competitive lol we still had fun and most importantly we're able to do what we came theie to do. Which was to become better leaders and servants.

Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) were mostly founded shortly after slavery ended in the United States of America. Christopher Brown II and Trimika Yates (2005) stated HBCUs were “ established as formal education centers to educate freed blacks, these institutions began with curriculum that stressed basic reading and math, as well as agricultural and mechanical training.” From that time until the end of 1890 more that 200 schools arise throughout the United States of America, all established with goal of providing an education for freed blacks. This was a significant time in the history of the United States, while Blacks were freed, segregation was still socially acceptable, it took more than 100 years before laws were passed to address segregation in United States of America.

A&M is the state's first open foundation of advanced education. With an understudy collection of more than 59,000 and more than 5,200 sections of land on the College Station grounds, Texas A&M is additionally among the country's biggest colleges. Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) offers a lot for us, students, in the Residence Halls. Comfortable lounges for us to study and hang out with our friends, free cable, accessible water fountains, and microwaves and mini-fridges are already provided for us. However, something valuable is missing from our Residence Halls that would have been a huge plus to living on campus. Where are our kitchens? The meal options at OLLU are great, but the food at the Cyber Café tends to get boring and bland, and the Sister Annie B's Cafeteria can get crowded with long lines to get food. Cooking is what makes food exciting and more gratifying, but without a kitchen, how will we ever learn to cook for ourselves and enjoy food? The new

East Carolina University is and has always been a dream school for many students including myself. I have grown up hearing about the University and it is nothing short of spectacular. Many family members of mine have attended East Carolina, and I have always pictured myself at this school. It would be an honor to be a pirate. Throughout high school I have struggled in Science and Math. I know I could have done better in high school but in life you can always do something better, im eager to push myself more and work harder than ever to succeed as an adult, if given the chance There are many times when I should I have put school in front of my extra curricular activities such as dancing, art, work, tennis, and swimming. Alabama like most other states has seen the rise in opioid use and those infants that have NAS (see Appendix C. Per Robert Moon, MD Chief Medical Officer Alabama Medicaid Agency the number of cases of NAS covered by Medicaid in Alabama more than doubled from 255 cases in 2010 to 533 in 2015, (see Appendix C). As stated by the Insurance Journal, Alabama has the highest level of prescription opioid use in the country (see Appendix). Alabama had more that 5.8 million opioid prescriptions written in 2015. That equates to a rate of 1.2 prescriptions per person, the highest rate in the country. By comparison, the national per capita was 0.71 in 2015 (2016). State agencies consist of the Arizona Department of Education; The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction; The State Board of Education, which also serves as the State Board for Vocational and Technological Education and the Arizona Board of Regents. The state agency acts much like parents to local agencies by providing advice and professional information.

Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) is a two-year public, community-driven institution of higher education. It is one of the oldest and largest community colleges within the state of Maryland. Anne Arundel Community College offers transfer and career associate degree programs; certificate programs; credit courses; and continuing education, workforce development and lifelong learning opportunities. AACC is a single-campus community college with a main campus in Arnold, off -campus sites at Arundel Mills in Hanover; the Glen Burnie Town Center; the Sales and Service Training Center in Arundel Mills mall; the Hotel, Culinary Arts and Tourism Institute in Glen Burnie; and the Center for Cyber and Professional Training across from Arundel

Who we are is a concoction of our life journey, relationships, tastes, goals, and countless other things. I am a family girl from Mexico who is a first generation college student. My family is the greatest part of who I am. They would give and do anything for me and vice versa. Life has brought me to the construction science program at Texas A&M and I could not be more excited to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Appalachian State University was founded by the Dougherty brothers in 1899 but was originally known as the Watauga College. Appalachian was originally a teachers college to create new teachers for the ‘lost province’ of Boone North Carolina. The Watauga College created a multitude of new teachers to better the education of those in the surrounding area. Appalachian State University is now known to put out some of the best teachers in the country.
