Policy changes as a result of school rampage shootings and the effect of such policies. Rocque argues that more research is required before stable conclusions in policy can be constructed.

He also states that because there have been such few comprehensive investigations made; there is an inadequate understanding into the subject and further research is required to understand school shootings completely.
