“The creation of a structure of good and evil…[is] a function of intelligence-unquestionably the ultimate evil may [be] the destruction of conscious intelligence.”(8) In the psychoanalytical story ‘The Large Ant’, by Howard Fast, a multitude of facets portray how fear morphed history throughout time. ‘The Large Ant’ locates itself some years after the Second World war, atom bombs having been dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. With a communist regime on the rise, ‘The Large Ant’ parallels Cold War hostilities and breaks apart the intentions of a humanity through the use of theories, including classical conditioning, defence mechanisms, and group influences.
In the story, “The House of the Scorpion”, written by Nancy Farmer, the main character is named Matt. The story takes place in the future around Mexico in a city named Opium. The main problem in the book is Matt is a clone and people do not like clones because clones act weird because they have an injection when they are first made that corrupts their body and makes them do things that humans don’t normally do. But Matt is different, he didn’t get the injection but people still think he is like the other clones, disgusting and brain-dead. The problem is solved when everyone is at a party for an old man named El Patron. He died and is having a party thrown in memory of him and El Patron left a note that told everyone to drink a certain wine but the wine was poisoned. Everyone died except for Matt, his “mother” Celia, his friend Maria, and a few others. Everyone is dead so the few that survived decide to start a new life where no one knows who they really are.
I read the book “Scorpion Shards” that was written by Neal Shusterman. This book or plot is really fast pace, unique, and keeps you thinking and on the edge of your seat for the entire book. You never really know how the characters make their decisions or how they’re going to end up at the end. In this book six teens suffer from supernatural tragedies or powers that were caused by a supernova sixteen light-years away that eliminated the night sky. Dillon, Deanna, Winston, Tori, Michael, and Lourdes are the six teenagers that were affected by the supernova. These six have never met each other before, but they all unexplainably meet each other.
Waking up in the early hours of the morning for school sometimes seems like the hardest thing to do, mostly it’s because most of us are not getting enough sleep and getting enough sleep is a biological necessity. Sleep is just as important as the air you breath. Teenagers need on average nine and ¼ hours of sleep per night in order for high performance and brain development but the average amount of sleep for teens is 7 hours or less a night.
In the story, The House of the Scorpion, written by Nancy Farmer, the main characters are Matt, El Patron, Celia, and Tam Lin. The main setting is the future in Mexico. Invasive species are organisms that are accidentally or intentionally introduced into an environment, that adapts quickly and disrupts the natural ecosystem. Bullfrogs (Rana catesbeiana) are native to the northeastern part of North America and are some of the most damaging invasive species. Many cultures around the world eat frog as a delicacy, so bullfrogs were gathered up and sold around the world. However, some of the species were introduced into countries around the world. Currently, they have become established in over fifteen countries as invasive species (Save The Frogs! et al. 2013).
Nancy Farmer’s “The House of the Scorpion” demonstrates how the alternative anti-utopian reality may look like. Its central figure, the clone Matt, faces the obstacles and challenges on the way to approaching identity thanks to the society’s atrocities as a consequence of considering him to be an animal. He achieves the significant results in the course of thinking’s development that assists in his acquiring independence from the prejudiced system. Still, in spite of the successful separating far away from the idea of imitating the original’s pattern, the character of Matt does nothing for improving the existing contradictions and unfairnesses as if he were an unthinking copy with no chances for advancement.
“A terrible pain lanced through matt's feet.” (p.19) The author, Nancy Farmer, uses this to show the reader so many things including that when she talks about the scorpion it means something more than just the story. When she says this line in the story she uses it basically to be blunt. She uses this to not only mean what it truly does and add depth to the story, but she also shows that this is used to mean that the scorpion is dangerous and will her Matt and/ or everyone else really bad. When the author uses the scorpion or even brings it up you should predict that something good is about to happen. In the text the author describes the scorpion as a terrible thing. When the author takes the line above and puts it into the text the surrounding

Cobras are very cool creatures in many ways. The cobra has some fascinating characteristics such as the amazing behaviors, where in the world they live, what crazy animals they eat , and in addition to that, what the cobras physical appearance is. In the Jungle Book the cobras are in the trap with Mowgli and they say ''Stand still little brother, lest thy feet do us harm.

them in deep sabotage operations in order to conduct these raids before the invasion had begun, to stop Saddam from ordering the Army to conduct Chem and Bio warfare on Kurdistan as it had done before. (Tucker & Faddis 2009, pg. 38) When they had reported this to Washington the unwillingness to conduct these operations, they could not believe that these men would refuse to fight or conduct these operations. The Scorpions had a great deal of support from Washington especially when it came to funding. The camp in Turkey that had been established on a portion of a military installation had vehicles and tanks as well as attack helicopters, hardware that was never utilized by the Scorpions due to their ineffectiveness. The organization in this study, a multi-billion dollar warehousing and distribution company, has been housed in an old building and will be moved to a new state-of-the-art facility. This move involves the planning, organizing, staging and moving of products from one location to the other. Included in planning needs are signage, warehouse racking placement, warehouseman selector choosing routes, freezer, cooler and dry product placement. Incorporated into this move will be the necessity to deal with contractors who are completing the building as well as contacting all vendors and suppliers to inform them of the change of location and service changes during the two-day transition period. The actual moving of all products will require 16 hours, 30 employees on two shifts at two different locations.
In 1993 Volkswagen had record low sales but by the end of 1997 the VW brand had sold 137,885 cars. That was an increase of 178% from it’s 1993 slump. It is safe to say that the the ’94 relaunch of VW on the American Market was a success. The “Drivers Wanted” campaign, developed by Arnold Communications, I believe was successful as a result of excellent market research and positioning.
