Over the Christmas holidays I visited one of my favorite childhood restaurants in the Metairie area. Quarter View, located on Clearview Parkway, has been one of my favorite places to eat rich, New Orleans style cuisine ever since I was a young child. Friday night of every week my family and I would enjoy dinner after a week of school and work. The consistently delicious food makes it difficult to choose to eat out anywhere else. Over the Christmas holiday was the first time I returned to eat here in numerous years; and it was a pleasant surprise with the warm atmosphere, helpful staff, and delectable New Orleans cuisine.
Early evening in November, the Windy City. The day was perfect, the night was turning out to be perhaps the best night of my life, and I didn’t even know it yet. Oversize plates with smaller than bite size servings, so well prepared you could see the flavor in the colors. Course after course, a ballet of servers one after the other, unending, twenty-two courses in four hours, and bottle after bottle of 82 Montelena.
