Secession

The disagreements for the north and south over the tariffs became the greatest battle between them, as slavery was only legal in the south. The north states was banned by the Mason- Dixonline, Secession has begun, this was a reason for slavery to begin. They started the war as soon as they could, in order to get there slaves in time for their businesses and factories. In 1860, when Lincoln was president, the constitution believed that every state had the right to leave the union. Northerns and Southerns had different life styles. Machinery was much better in the North than in the South. As machinery improved over time, it created more jobs for the slaves, which made the slaves a bit mad. Northerns began to outlaw slavery. For the South, southerners were extremely wealthy. They had great sources of rice and tobacco, which gave them great food labor. In 1793, Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin. This made the south even more dominated. The southerns treated their slaves differently, some treated them with respect and some treated them terribly. Most of their slaves had barely any clothes, some even becoming naked. The southerners defended slavery, being heavily invested. While the northerners did terrible things, using young children and women in unhealthy working conditions. The North saw slavery as a running society, while the south wanted no contradiction and thought they were doing a good thing for the blacks. The south assumed they could not live without slavery and wanted war to reserve the right to own slaves. In 1820, the Missouri Compromise started, free and slave states were threatened.
