It is always easy to overlook something surprisingly, when attentions are directed everywhere for the slightest disturbance. Seireitei and its inhabitants were on high vigilance for any sign of the invading Bounts. It was logical to believe the Bounts would appear at one of the gates, it was the only way inside Seireitei after all. Who could possibly imagine that their enemy would use an abandoned underground passageway?
