Completing a self-assessment made me think about my future and career. I found the self-assessment form useful, because I relized that when a person write the things about his personality or his future plans, he needs to think more about it. Writing something down is more productive than speaking. When a person writes it down, he makes plans in a real way. My self-assessment made me think about my plans, my hobbies, my family, my friends, etc. First of all, money and repetition motivates me to do my work and gives me self-reliance to make my next move. Success makes me happy and motivates me. There are things that I like to do in life. For example, I like to meet with new people and travel new places. Getting acknowledged about something makes me feeling good. This is one of the main reasons that I came to USA. After I came here I gained a lot of experiences on life. When first come here, everything was new to me and I was not know anyone. However, I built a life and meet with new people in USA. After two years later, I learned the lifestyle and how to live in here. I learned so many things in USA and succeeding this made me happy …show more content…
First thing I can say is any kind of illogical actions my co-workers or employees. When the people create problems from nowhere, it drains my energy for working and makes feel to not work with them. Everybody makes mistakes, but I am not talking about the regular mistakes people do in here. There are people, who do not focus on their work, instead they are gossiping with each other and think about how to kick off the people they do not like in the company. Furthermore, they do that by their personal thoughts such as; political and religion views. In my opinion, personal life and working life should be separate. A person’s religion view or political view should be discussed on that person’s personal relationships, not the working
My personal goal that I would like to achieve as a Montgomery college student is to be the best student that can successfully complete the courses by acquiring the required knowledge and participating in various college events, voluntary works, community services, and others. Besides my personal goals that I want to achieve, my educational goals that I would like to succeed in is to learn as much as I can from my professors, classmates, and from the college environment. I have been interested in learning science and technology courses since I started to learn those subjects in elementary school. Having a great foundation in science and math subjects in elementary classes helps me to further improve my knowledge in secondary school and in college. I completed my secondary school in Ethiopia. Even though there is no special program that focuses only on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) majors to give more attention to students having an interest on STEM programs, my personal interest has encouraged me to do well on those programs. The more I get information and knowledge on STEM related courses, I began to appreciate the
A self-assessment requires that a person take a look at him or herself objectively. Doing this can be extremely hard for a person because they have to be honest with themselves about who they are and the areas where they are lacking. Personally, I like taking assessments that are going to help me better myself and so forth. But I really did not like this assessment because of how it is set up. I prefer assessments where you are scored based on what you put and then there is a synopsis that gives some explanation or detail about what it all means.
Every day people are faced with dilemmas within their work place. Some of those dilemmas are minor while others are major and go against the ethics that people have. Some of them not only go against one’s personal ethics, but work ethics as well. Some are able to look past these dilemmas and continue on while others can’t and feel the needs to confront the person or person’s that are involved. One has to remember that their values maybe different than others and that is more so true within the work place than anywhere else’s. The work place is full off different people from different back grounds and all of these people are put
Over the course of 2017 spring semester, I have been required to reflect upon my personal health behaviors. Through these reflections, I was challenged to analyze and review my personal health habits, such as my physical and mental health, physical activity, alcohol use, contraceptive methods, and Infectious Diseases. While reviewing, and completing the reflections, I recognized not only the dangers that affect my health, but also the benefits from personal habits. Assessing my individual behaviors and ideas, I was enlightened by grasping risk factors and what leads to these factors. When identifying the risk factors, I also grasped recommendations for prevention and how I change my behavior to protect myself against the risk factors. A major
The presentation indicates the results of PAMS, which reflects to my own, and others’ perceptions towards my management skills. To be honest, before attending this class, I am very proud of my past performance and even self-definite to be a manager at the age of twenty-three, and as my boss/father would say, that I am "being the right person doing right things and in right ways", though most often trying to be as humble as possible while wearing workout clothes to our small office in DTC. However, after finishing the Personal Assessment of Management Skills (PAMS), as well as comparing the result with the reports from the PAMS Associates (one current employee and one past coworker/good friend for the survey) and with the average of the
I had the advantage to take numerous self-assessments tests to learn something about myself, that could benefit me in my personal growth and career aspirations. I feel that my self- assessments were very important to me because it had shown areas of where I am lacking in my abilities and empowering my strengths. My self- assessments were based on personal growth and career growth and my learning style of auditory. The personal self-assessments included, Jungian Typology (personality type), Productivity (time management), Locus of Control (behaviors and attitudes), Burnout Risk (state of emotional, mental and physical exhaustion) and a Stress Scale (a mental or emotional strain). The career growth self-assessments included, Communications

Taking the personality test allows me to see what kind of person I am. Knowing that I am an Introvert will stray me away from jobs where I might have to interact with a lot of people daily. A job that does not really fit my personality may make me unhappy at work. I now know that a job where I have limited to know independence would not be good for me. Knowing what my interests are helps me know what career path to look at. I did not score high in Realistic, so it would not make sense for me to go in a hands-on career. These tests show you what you might be good for you and what would not
I think the self-assessment was a good idea for me as a student to reevaluate myself and time management for my classwork. I did not learn anything new about myself after completing the assessment; however it did make me compare the different areas to see what I need to focus on more. The statement “Even as you benefit from your strengths, spends time developing your weakest areas so they don’t get in the way of your dreams and desires” made me really think about making changes with myself. (Bethel University, p2).
The self-assessment test is a test to rate where you stand on certain skills. I am not really sure on how I felt with this considering I had more low numbers than high, I would have to say that I feel weakness. I learned that with taking this test I have weakness and strengths, also made me realize that I need to work on more than I thought.
For one to establish a stress free life, one of the most important aspects one should pursue together is having a balanced healthy lifestyle. Paying attention to the level of changes in once life over a period of time requires a full attention and cooperation of the individual’s daily activity towards achieving this goal. As an individual , it is a priority to pay proper attention to my lifestyle by adopting a measuring scale that will help to determine my motivation ,emotion and the state of my stress level in my daily activity.
In my self assessment paper at the beginning of the year I mentioned that my level of confidence, on a scale of one to ten, was a seven. Now I feel like I am pretty close, if not at an eight. For having a personal goal of a nine, I would say I am doing pretty good. The more speeches I did the more relaxed I felt for each one. Hopefully, with all the speeches I may have to do in the future, I will have more confidence and will continue to increase my confidence along the way. A way of showing confidence is keeping eye contact with the audience. One strategy that I used to keep that eye contact was to just keep reminding myself that it is my friends listening to my speech and it is easier the look at the audience when you know you have people
Exploration of yourself or a self-narrative is a valuable way to determine your role in life, and more specifically in teams. To know where I have been and what my history is will provide a picture of my potential future. Being emotionally intelligent provides information on how to react to certain situations, and knowing what motivates me will help in the motivation of others. All of these areas are important to every team player, and an exploration of myself in regards to these items will provide powerful insight into my role.
Self assessment is a process in which you examine yourself in attempt to discover and learn more about yourself. Your likes, dislikes, behaviors, attitudes and habits can be found during this process. You can use the discoveries to your advantage by accepting or changing strengths and weaknesses. I plan on using this course to enhance my personal skills to become a better student and find success in earning my Bachelor of Arts degree at Ashford University in Social Science. Self Assessment is the first step in my successful future.
The assessment was enjoyable since it did not make me feel judged in the classroom when we were told to discuss our personality types in groups. To my understanding, the scores are just to show what type of career will be most suitable for me.
