Attention! There multiple ways and reasons self-driving cars can be extremely dangerous. I am writing to you to show you that self-driving cars are very dangerous and a very bad idea. First of all, they are computers. There is a possibility of a malfunction. Self-driving cars are supposed to come with automatics. If those automatics go out, there could be fatal destruction. Another reason is just because they drive themselves, doesn’t mean that is fully prevents a car accident from happening. They could be caused by a different driver or from the car itself.
All electronics malfunction, it there were to be any kind of malfunction, the car could crash and cause very serious injury. Millions of people die in car accidents everyday. This could be another way a life could be taken away. There is an easy way to prevent the car from malfunctioning. All you have to do is buy a car that lets you in full control of the car. That way, you don’t have to worry about any kind of malfunction.
There is another reason I feel self-driving cars are a very bad idea. These kind of cars are meant to come with automatics. If automatics are to ever go out, they could cause a whole new set of issues with the whole car. Automatic parking, braking, sensors for nearby obstacles could cause fatal

There are three main reasons that self-driving cars shouldn’t be allowed on public streets. One reason that was mentioned was malfunction, any sort of problem in the car could cause an accident. Another reason that was mentioned was automatics, they are also a very important factor in the car. If they go out the car is basically broken, a car accident is very likely to happen if they go out. Also just because it is a car that drives itself doesn’t mean it fully prevents a car accident from occurring at anytime. This is why I feel that self driving cars should not be allowed on any kind of public
According to an article by Investopedia called “How Google’s Self-Driving Car Will Change Everything,” Self-driving cars are expected to be safer because these cars won’t drive too fast, or take unnecessary risks-things people do all the time (Chase). Some other background information includes that over ninety percent of accidents are caused by driver error. There is every reason to believe that self-driving
Self-driving cars will soon be in their rearview mirrors. I do believe Americans are ready for cars that can drive themselves?, and it be safe for “ai’s” on the road instead of normal human drivers?, and this will be beneficial to traffic, crashes, and time? With General Motors vehicle-to-vehicle, or V2V, communications technology in some of its upcoming Cadillac models, it will definitely reduce the many crashes we have each year, because of it's ability to brake and avoid hitting other cars. Who knows when these new “self-driving-cars” will be on the road, or weather they'll help make the road a safer place, but with technology advancing every day let's just say it might come sooner than we
Self driving cars should continue to be produced because, self driving cars are safer than humans at driving. Although it is true that if self driving vehicles took over, 1.7 million people would be out of a job involving commercial transportation; however, the safety of self driving cars outweighs the cons (Freedman). Driverless cars are a new way to advise car safety. It eliminates human error, and allows multiple cross checks to avoid a collision. This compares to just one quick decision by someone. Normal cars require people to make logical decisions to keep themselves safe. The idea about decisions is that a person can make bad ones. Computers are not like that; rather, they have a series of processes that monitor decisions being made. Self driving cars are mechanical which mean, that they have nothing to distract them. It is said by The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that 94% of crashes occur from human error. Taking out human error will reduce the number
I think self driving cars are not safe because the GPS is pre-programed which is bad because if the road changes in any way the GPS will not find a detour it will probably crash.
Most people believe that these self-driving cars are going to make our roads much safer than they are with human drivers. According to an article titled “Road Crash Statistics” by the Association for Safe International Road Travel, “nearly 1.3 million people die in road crashes each year, on average 3,287 a day.” They also claim that road crashes is the ninth leading cause of death. Obviously automobiles are dangerous, but they are also very effective for transportation. According to Statista there were over 7 million cars sold to U.S. customers in 2014. Even though automobiles have caused so many deaths, most people really need them.
Self driving cars are real and whether you like it or not they are going to exist in the future. Many people believed that it was impossible but as technology grows and more companies become more interested in them they are starting to appear in test drives and more. Now there still are issues with these cars and they won’t be ready to buy just yet but people are thinking about them in ways we haven’t thought of before.
A second view that people have about self-driving cars is that they are unsafe. There are many risks that come with introducing self-driving cars to the public. One of the major risks is that they are not controlled by a person. Since there is little to no input the nobody in the vehicle will be making any decisions, which means every decision will be left to a machine. One problem this can create is that technology sometimes glitches out. If the car glitches out while driving there is no telling what could happen. The car could start moving out of control and the people inside would not be able to do anything about the vehicle losing control. Another thing that makes it unsafe is that every vehicle on the road will not be fully autonomous.
Self-driving cars aren’t the greatest form of transportation because of the conditions they are put in. Because they run on a computer system the extreme heat, constant moisture, and movement it may cause the computer pieces to break down. Having a computer part break down while you’re driving down the highway going 70 mph is very dangerous. That is one of the many reasons that self-driving
Self driving cars are not the way to go they are very treacherous in more ways than just one. Some articles one could get evidence from “PRO/CON: Is it time to hop in self-driving…” by Tribune News Service, talks about the pros and cons of the self driving cars, “Google allows man who is blind to test its...” By Ashley Halsey III and Michael Laris and it talks about how this blind guy get to drive this self driving car around, and another you could use is “Self-driving car technology still has a way…” By Scientific American and it is mainly about how they still have a lot of work to do with the cars. Self driving cars are not the way to go they are not safe and should not come to the US because they are not as safe as an actual person driving
Have you ever heard of a self driving car? Most likely you have.Since the self driving cars release in the 2000,the self driving car has been in the center of controversy. Many believe self driving cars could save lives by avoiding wrecks, while others believe that self driving cars may not be as great as they sound.Self driving cars are not a good idea because they need up to date highways, and there will be less safety gear,
With the world’s roads becoming more fast-paced and dangerous, there is hope at the end of the tunnel for drives, passengers, and civilians. Fortunately, we live in a time in which technology makes dreams become a reality. The idea of self-driving cars first started in the 1920s and has been slowly progressing until now.
Self driving cars, are you kidding me? Do you know how many accidents could happen? It is not a good idea. They should stay in your garage. Why are they evan invented?
Self driving cars could be in everyday life faster than you think but are they safe to drive, yes . Self driving cars can save many lives and reduce the amount of traffic fatalities. And commuting will be less of a chore
With uprising technology, self-driving cars still need to have more research done antecedently they can be legalized on the U.S. roads. In the Newsela article by Robert Peterson, under the heading “Taking Technology Further ”, paragraph 5, stated, “As anyone who owns a computer knows, computers develop glitches. A computer glitch is annoying when it happens at your desk. It could be deadly when it happens on the highway.”. For this reason, self-driving cars can glitch just like a computer can, but the repercussion can be deadlier than if one's computer just has a virus and needs to be taken to a store to get repairs; lives cannot be repaired like a computer can. However, some can see how another may
Self-driving cars are already in the advanced stage and are being tested on roads right now in certain states, Michigan being one of them. They provide protection like no other car can because a computer is the driver, removing human risk.
