Most suicidal people do not want death, they just want the pain to stop, so how can the pain they feel be resolved? The point of my paper is to find out the reasons that people become suicidal and how to prevent it from happening. People contemplate suicide till the end so by understanding the source of their pain, it is possible to prevent the unfortunate outcome of suicide. Don't ignore even the smallest of signs of suicide.
People have been committing suicide since the beginning of time. Suicide is defined as the death of a person, caused by self-directed injurious behavior, with any intent to die as a result of that behavior. A suicide attempt, is a non-fatal, self directed, potentially harmful behavior, with any intent to die as a result.. A suicide attempt may or may not result in personal or physical harm. Suicidal ideation is an individual having ideas and considering or planning to end his or her life. Suicide is usually carried out as a result of ultimate despair due to certain mental disorders such as severe depression, schizophrenia, borderline and bipolar personality disorders, alcoholism and or drug abuse. High stress levels and anxiety due to financial difficulties and personal relationships can also be contributing factors of suicide. According to The National Institute of Mental Health, research has shown that the majority of victims of deaths by suicide had been diagnosed with some type of depressive mental illness. Suicide and suicide attempts have a dramatic impact and take an enormous toll on society. According to recent studies by the CDC, suicide is the 10th leading cause of death among Americans. CDC reports state that last year alone, there are more than 38,000 people who have committed suicide, over one million people have been reported of making a suicide attempts, and two million people have been reported of thinking
"Suicide, what a terrible concept. There are two types of suicide: physical, and theoretical. Physical suicide is the more commonly heard type of suicide. It entails the person actually, physically killing himself or herself. On the other hand, theoretical suicide is when the person does something that will, in turn, get him or her killed. For example, in “All About Suicide” by Luisa Valenzuela, Ismael, a man that works at a minister’s office, murders the minister, a high-ranking public official. Ismael has been forced to be quiet by the government; therefore he lashes out by killing the minister so that he can reveal the truth about the government. In doing this, Ismael technically “kills himself” because he knows the government
Suicide is a severe community health matter which can have lifelong negative consequences on individuals, families, and the society. Reduce suicidal risk factors and increase protective measures are the main objective of suicide prevention. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defined suicide as the “death caused by self-directed injurious behavior with intent to die as a result of the behavior; suicide attempt is “A non-fatal, self-directed, potentially injurious behavior with an intent to die as a result of the behavior; might not result in injury’; and suicidal ideation is “thinking about, considering, or planning suicide” (2015).
Suicide is the demonstration of deliberately consummation one's own particular life. The way societies view suicide differs generally as indicated by culture and religion. For instance, numerous Western societies, and in addition standard Judaism, Islam, and Christianity tend to view killing oneself as entirely negative (Edwards-Dryden, 2016). One myth about suicide that might be the consequence of this perspective is thinking about suicide (self-destructive ideation) to dependably be the aftereffect of a dysfunctional behavior. A few societies additionally regard a suicide endeavor as though it were a crime. Be that as it may, suicides are once in a while seen as justifiable or even good in specific circumstances, such as, in protest in persecution (for example, a hunger strike), as part of battle or resistance (for
Suicide is intentionally causing your own death out of despair. It is considered a behavior and may result from a form of mental illness, but is not classified as a distinct psychiatric disorder. It can stem from different factors such as personal, social, financial or historical well-being. ("Mental health and wellness," 2013)
When a person decides to commit suicide, it is at times seen to be very selfish and cowardly. It is considered the easy way out. Whether it is running from punishment, leaving loved ones behind, or tearing a family apart, suicide is not the answer.
Sometimes life can feel like it’s suffocating you. You can feel yourself getting pulled down into the abyss. The weight of the world Crushing you and forcing all the air out of your lungs. You can feel alone in the dark water. That is how it feels on the inside. On the outside things are seen so much differently. Some people are seen as happy and smiling while others seem ‘ normal’. However there are some that seem fake. This is how people dealing with self harm feel.
A death that is caused by self-inflicted injurious behavior, with the intent to die, is known as suicide (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2015). Whereas, a suicide attempt is a non-fatal, self-inflicted, and potentially injurious behavior, with the intent to die. Because of the immense effect of suicide on young people, it is important to recognize what suicide is. For example, "Suicide is defined as the intentional taking of one's own life" (Brent 4203). The definition of suicide can be simply defined as the taking of one's own life on purpose. When someone ends their life, it is described as a suicide. In addition, some other definitions of suicide include someone who purposely takes their

There are other circumstances in which a person who truly wishes to end his/her life may fail, due to the lack of knowledge about the action, refuse to use methods that may cause permanent damage if they fail or the fear of harming others, those type of cases are call suicidal attempts. Is difficult to distinguish between a suicidal attempt and a suicidal gesture, because often individuals in a suicidal state experience a conflict over whether they truly wish to end their lives. One approach assume that a strong intention to end one’s life will be successful, considering all suicide failures to be suicidal gestures, but this does not explain why so many people who fail completing suicide end up whit severe permanent and undesirable injuries. Is possible that some times those who intend to do a suicidal gesture end up ending their lives by accident, underestimating the power of the elected

Most of the time this happens because of depression and in some cases bullying, it can also happen because of alcohol or because of a major stressful event that has happened. Suicide can really happen anywhere and at any time.Suicide is a problem that exists because the numbers of suicide keep going up and won’t come down.
All behavior that seeks and finds the solution to an existential problem by making an attempt on the life of the subject. This definition not only calls the act of actually ending one’s own life as suicide but an attempt as well. By this definition someone who has an unsuccessful suicide attempt has still committed suicide. I find it to be too broad of a definition and leaves to much open for
