Senator Bernie Sanders liberal world view. Sen. sanders decision as rebased on “what should” happen rather than “what is” going to happen (Axelrod and Keohane). The world view point of Senator Bernie Sanders includes cooperation (Axelrod and Keohane, 227). In turn, Sanders is willing to adjust the behavior of the United States to correspond to the preference of other nations (Axelrod and Keohane, 227). Senator Sanders aims to achieve as much cooperation as possible in regards to events that involve the international community such as Russia, Iraq, Syria and ISIS (Axelrod and Keohane, 228).
Senator Bernie Sanders has expressed concerns about the future (Axelrod and Keohane). For instance, Sanders expressed his concerns about climate change
Political candidates often run for the same position and have a common goal to become President. The way in which they approach their Presidency may differ. That is the case for two of the Democratic Candidates of the 2016 Election, Bernie Sanders and Hilary Clinton. Both Candidates have similar views on Women’s rights, yet they differ on issues of Education cost, foreign policy, etc.
Senator Bernie Sanders is primarily a democrat but has socialist ideologies. Sanders holds a strong stance on “Shrinking the American middle class” (Sanders, 2017) and increasing income for middle class families by taxing the rich and spreading the wealth. Sanders deals in national politics that affect laws, amendments, and rights. He sponsors and cosponsors bills that he believes will help Americans.
Bernie cares about education, he plans to reduce class size to 18 children in grades 1-3. Bernie also plans to do away with fill-in-the-bubble standardized tests. He voted yes on protecting ocean, coastal, and Great Lakes ecosystems.
Senator Bernie Sanders is an inspirational leader who has dedicated his life to the betterment of his fellow-man. Despite being in his mid seventies,
Bernie Sanders is socialist but is written down as a independent which is a big turnoff for most people. When people think of socialist they think of Lenin, Castro, and Stalin who were not the most pleasant of people. Sanders totally different then all of them though. First off he’s Jewish and these people don't seem Jewish. Second off he has not killed anybody like the people listed. And third is he has modern and past democratic views. He is a supporter of gay marriage and abortion which is modern democratic views. He wants the minimum wage raised which has been an ongoing fight for many years with republicans and democrats fighting over it. One more thing he's done is trying to reach out to our younger generation who is voting for the first time. In a New York Times article entitled “The Socialist Senator”, he visited South Burlington High School where he answer some question to some 6o kids. This is what you want in a president, who speaks at schools and answer question for them. In another New York Times Article, he states, “Doctors have told me about patients who died because they put off their medical visits until it was too late”(Sanders, 3). This proves a point that he does not want people to die. Now we can disagree that Sanders should or should not be president but what we can most definitely agree on is we don't want people to
On May 26th, 2015 Bernie Sanders announced his candidacy for presidency. Bernie stands for the underdog, the beaten down, and the abused. Bernie Sanders has been the Junior Senator from Vermont since 2007. He is an Independent that caucuses with the Democrats. In his run for presidency Bernie asked questions that others would not. He spoke on issues other candidates would not tackle. He did not just expand upon the Democratic agenda, he wrote an entirely new agenda, an agenda for the
Within the last century, there has been a multitude of great stories, books, and novels. The reason these a pronouced as “great,” are their engaging plots, unique characteristics, and learning experiences. Harper Lee’s novel “How to Kill a Mocking bird,” is compiled with many characters, each having seperate beliefs and opinions within their society. Some character’s express valuing aspects, while others represent bitterness and envy. Lee, firmly contrasts the positive, loving character named Atticus, by a young girl named Scout who will take you through Atticus’ journey of his complex life in a small town of Maycomb, Alabama. Integrity, humbleness, and kindness strongly establishes Atticus’ exceedingly likeable characteristics.
The 2016 presidential election is shaping up to be one of the most important elections in recent memory. As all pundits know, the media plays a very large part in shaping the way voters view the candidates. Much time has been spent discussing Senator Bernie Sanders (D-Vermont), a leading candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination and one of the most polarizing figures on the political scene today. Some journalists say he is a modern prophet; others believe he is an unelectable far-left ideologue.
Bernie Sanders wants to combat climate change. Climate change is one of the greatest threats in the world and Bernie feels that he will do something about it if or when he gets elected as president. "Climate change is real, caused by human activity and already devastating our nation and planet. The United States must lead the world in combating climate change and transforming our energy system away from fossil fuels and toward energy efficiency and sustainability"(betterworld.net). Climate change is mostly caused by things that use fossil fuels like cars or airplanes and trains.
Sanders believes that there are many issues in the United States today that need to be fixed. For example, Sanders believes that “we need major reforms in our broken criminal justice system” ("Sanders: Our Criminal Justice System...” 2015). Sanders proposes “[..] to start treating prisoners as human beings” as well as “[..] eliminate federal, state, and local contracts for privately run prisons within 2 years” ("Sanders: Our Criminal Justice System..” 2015). This reform will do much prevent the swindling of prisoners by the private companies as well as promote better overseeing on the prisoners ("Sanders: Our Criminal Justice System..” 2015). Additionally, Sanders proposes reforms on the immigration policy (Editorial Board). Sanders wants for immigrants to have more access to courts and lawyers to decrease racial profiling, which is distinctly apparent today (Editorial Board). Some may argue that these reforms to immigration may seem radical, especially with the problems going on right now, still, immigrants are the backbone of America and have done much to boost this nation’s economy (Engler). In addition, Sanders proposes gun reforms, which includes a ban on assault weapons and tougher background checks (Mercia, LoBianco), and tax reforms, which includes a moderate tax increase on the wealthy and corporations (Cohen). Hence, Bernie Sanders’
Don’t be afraid of Sanders’ socialism: it comes with “small ‘d'”, meaning small democracy, nothing they can’t handle with their big ‘c’ for ‘big capitalism’, and they give as example no other than Mr. Debs. This is a “lively” tradition, meaning the traditional class wars produced by capitalism. And as all class wars, it is very lively, action packed, wehre the labor movement loses most of the time. So, it is “refreshing’ to have Sanders, who doesn’t run away from a PARTICULAR part of that tradition (that was very cryptic). And we all know how the lively class wars have influenced our policies: Taft Hardly and other policies to restraint the working class
For ages, humans have been ending the lives of others in the name of morality and
Bernie Sanders’ political discourse has catapulted him to one of the front-runners of the 2016 presidential race. Sanders’ is bringing forth his thoughts and ideas that represent who he is. The representation precedes how Sanders wants to govern and transport his ideas into meaningful content. One of Sanders key rhetorical strategies has been to bring awareness to how capitalism and politics are intertwined and how this relationship impacts the American people.
The Humanities Faire was both an amazing and stressful challenge this year, which started in September and ended in October. The ending was a showcase, but there was a long road before that to get to where it ended. On the first day, we did a really rough overview of the time periods we wanted to include, the characters, and what the main view to get across was. On September 1st, that is what we looked at. Breaking into small groups, we got some ideas rolling and brought them to the big group. After about a week of conversing and little researching, we came to one conclusion as to what we wanted to get across: God can and will use different groups of people for his plans. Now that the ‘theme’ was found, we moved on to narrowing our times and people. For
I think Bernie Sanders should win because he is taking interest in many different problems with america like our crumbling infrastructure. We need an investment to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure such as roads, bridges, sewage ,plants, airports, railroads and schools. It has been predicted that the cost of the Iraq War will total three trillion dollars by the time the last veteran receives needed care. A one trillion dollar investment in infrastructure could create thirteen million decent paying jobs and make this country more efficient and
