Executive Summary:
Objective:
The objective of our senior project is to develop portable lab equipment and software interface for first year college students. The idea of our project is to allow portability and convenience for students to perform basic electronic labs at home. Future Expansion:
This project could also include a multimeter and curve tracer. It could also be improved by having a higher voltage and a better regulated power supply. The function generator could also have higher bandwidth and frequency.

When we visualized our senior project, we decided that engineering and electronic students in college could make use of portable, inexpensive, simple equipment in order to demonstrate concepts off campus. This equipment would not necessarily have all of the functionality and versatility of the lab equipment, but it would be useful in demonstrating concepts. The current lab equipment is great for school, but if students have a need to use the equipment at home such as to finish labs, learn more, or just hobby use, they are left without an inexpensive alternative with the equipment currently on the market. Our solution was to address these issues with our project which we named "Lab In A Box." This would allow students to have a portable oscilloscope, power supply, and function generator at a greatly reduced cost. The labs performed usually only requires low bandwidth and low voltage equipment. The power supplies in the labs are DC with the capability of +6V and ±25V. This reality has changed with the dissemination of remote laboratories. Sustained by resources based on new information and communication technologies, it is now probable to remotely control a wide variety of conventional physical laboratories. However, most of them are intended specifically to this purpose, are rigid and only on its utility they resemble the real ones. A substitute remote lab infrastructure dedicated to the study of electronics is offered. Its main characteristics are, from a teacher's perception, reusability and simplicity of use, and from a students' standpoint, an exact imitation of the real lab, facilitating them to balance or finish at home the work started at class. The object of the proposed research is to build an authoring system for performance of live electronics which will simplify the compositional workflow, easy the performance and ensure the preservation. Linking this post graduate program to the undergraduate degree I acquired, I surely found this course is a combinational package of all skills, abilities and competences that I will be possessed after successfully completion. Interestingly, it contains perfectly every module which I intend to undertake at this level of degree. Moreover, not only it focuses on one-core-side of Electronics but both sides’ analogy and digital combined with specialization in control and micro-electronics the two areas I aim to mostly focus on. Main influences I had in relation to this selection were from past classes in electronics and control systems, projects I conducted and encountered through engineering events, seminars given by various electronics specialists and even other colleagues with the same area of interest.
