Special Occasion Reward Acceptance Speech
Thanks to the wonderful introduction by our Dean, you now know my name is Katherine Lipsius. I am standing here today, among all the other graduates as the John T. Harrison award winner. An award I am told is delivered to a student with outstanding academic and community achievement, and I am honored to have been recognized for these qualities. I have spent my time at this college learning a variety of skills and knowledge both in the classroom and out of it. I have had many obstacles to overcome, but they have made me a better student and a better member of the community. These qualities ultimately allowed me to earn this award tonight, and I am forever grateful to know my efforts in establishing myself within the community have not been in vain.

I took the course load our advisors strictly discouraged, and any free time I had become dedicated to my volunteer work in assisted living homes and nonprofit organizations, and my work as a tutor for those that just could not fit the tutor schedule provided by the university. I earned perfect grades and hundreds of hours of community service experience. Yet, for all my achievements, I would have never made it this far without the support of my family, who dealt with my three AM freakouts over projects. My instructors, who listened to my theoretical rants and gave me an opportunity to expand my practical knowledge and the students that I have tutored over the last five semesters who allowed me to refine that
I have the distinct pleasure of welcoming all of you into the National Honor Society, a group built off of high standards of achievement, not only in the area of academics but also in character and leadership. I congratulate each of you and your parents.
Academically, I have been very fortunate to be recognized for excelling at my studies and arts by Mill Creek Community Schools and organizations such as DAR, Purdue Universsity, ISAP, IHSAA, and NJHS. I have been selected to participate in various Leadership programs sponsored by organizations like the Children's Museum Power of Children, Butler and ? . However, of the numerous awards the most memorable was being the recipent of the Teresa McCoy Memorial Service Award. This memorial plaque which hangs in the Cascade Middle School lobby reminds us of her love for family and friends. Her huge educational influence and a remarkable impact on our community. It was an honor that I will continue to strive to fulfill To be described with a
Congratulations on your acceptance into William Peace University! You will be part of the historic entering Class of 2020.
I am an active member of my school and community. At school I feel that i've gained the respect of my peers being elected as Student Council representative for the past four years. I have also been elected the treasurer of the choir, and secretary of the band. I am part of the Ross Middle School bucket drumming group and have been casted as part of the school theatre’s annual play. After school on Wednesdays I assist Ms. Rullman in helping students with homework and enhancing study methods. I am currently participating in science olympiad and have in the past. Good evening! My name is Isabella Smith and I am applying to National Honor Society for the upcoming year. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to join this club as it is a wonderful way for me to make a difference in the community. It would really mean a lot if you would take the time to fill out a recommendation for me.
I am delighted to announce that I am running for the presidential position of Science National Honors Society, which has truly been one of the most active clubs at Clements High School this year! In doing so the club has genuinely lived up to its motto of "Promoting Science, Service, and Leadership". Hearty congratulations to all the current officers for successfully re-establishing the SNHS standards at Clements High School after a year of hardships. From the establishment of Pat Cave to volunteering at Westbury Community Garden, active involvement in SNHS has given me a rigorous introduction to application of scientific concepts to real life problems. At the same time, this club has taught me how to sincerely appreciate nature, specifically
During my time at Union County College I have been faced with a lot of difficulties. I’ve struggled along the way but one thing I do believe is that I have the power to do better. My GPA has been affected by my personal mistakes. In my past semesters I have let my job take over my life rather than let school be most important. I have also let my personal family problems affect my work ethic. But through my fall 2014, it was most difficult because of March 2014 I lost my father through an unexpected heart attack. Throughout my fall semester I did struggle and cope with my father not being here anymore. I believed that I wasn’t focused enough because I used fall semester as a time to occupy myself rather that time out to deal with my father’s
Dear administrators, teachers, parents, beloved friends, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 8th grade graduation. It’s a pleasure to be standing in front of you today on this beautiful day to express the happiness we all feel.
I hope this message finds you in the best of health and good spirits. On behalf of Principal Day and the faculty and staff of Jefferson County High School, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to our First Annual Senior Walk. This event is scheduled for Thursday, May 19, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. The seniors will visit each campus, with the final festivities taking place at the Jefferson County High School Gymnasium. The Senior Walk was created to acknowledge our graduating seniors for their hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment to education. Our goal is to show our appreciation to the seniors while allowing other students in the district to witness their accomplishment. We believe it is well-deserving and will have a positive
I am extremely honored to be among the remarkable students who are being considered for National Honor Society. I am fortunate to be considered for this offer and I am confident that I uphold the standards of which the NHS is committed through my academic achievements, participation in the school’s Peer Leadership Program, the Girl Scouts of America and my experience in child care. I would like to thank the Faculty Council for giving me the privilege of striving for the highest standards of the National Honor Society.
When I arrived on campus, just 22 months ago, I was astounded by the genuine Kent State University community that welcomed me with open arms and kind hearts. There was no better evidence of this than the unconditional and overwhelming support I have received over the last month. I continue to be deeply moved by the outpouring of thoughtful well wishes from so many students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni and community members. Your empathy and caring messages of encouragement remind me of just how grateful I am, and how fortunate we all are, to be part of this truly special
National Junior Honor Society is a great opportunity for students to show their leadership and collaborative skills. I would like to serve as secretary in the 2016-2017 school year because I am dedicated to what I do, and I enjoy being involved in school and helping others. I believe I can take on the responsibilities that come with the job and am qualified to serve because I am dependable and curious. My curiosity leads me to ask questions, which will allow me to know as much as possible about the meeting and the meeting procedures. I am also organized and neat, which enables me to make sure everything and everyone is present at the meetings and to also be aware of the calendar and the growth of the committees.
In that time I was working a full and part time job to help my mother out while she was on disability. In those years I had no idea what I wanted to do and lacked the passion that now drives me. I knew I needed college to be successful but I also knew I was the only one bringing income in for my family. My academics took a backseat for extra shifts and taking care of mother when she was ill. As I left my exam, I remembered that mother from the accident and how I couldn’t of taken care of her if I hadn't taken of myself and emotions. I had failed to do that with my own mother and academics when I started college. I still work a full and part time job as an EMT while pursuing my prereqs for PA school but my passion to become a PA has transformed my lackluster grades into making the dean's

Students in East Asia face many issues regarding college entrance exams. They spend many years preparing for them, and deal with a lot of pressure from parents and society to pass these exams and become successful. This exam decides what type of future these students will have. Many students usually pass, but the one who do not have a lot of work to do. Some prepare to take it again but the chances are very low, and they need to have a backup plan to satisfy their families, society, and, of course, themselves. Preparing for these exams can cause students to cheat, become depressed, and even commit suicide. These entrance exams can be a good idea to use in the Dominican Republic, however, the Dominican government has to prepare this
