I came up with my senior project idea while on a road trip in spring of last year. My dad and I were talking about my grandma's property and thought it would be a cool place for a mountain bike trail. We talked and made a pretty good plan to start during the summer. I met my mentor after my dad told me that he worked with a guy named Rob that was super into mountain biking. We went mountain biking last year and that's how we first met. During the summer, my dad and I went up to my grandma’s house in Merlin to plan and find a rough outline of where we thought would be the best route. When we went up the first time we brought orange marker tape to flag the trail. Flagging the trail took two trips to get flagged, then after that we had to clear
My project was to help the community through a hospital by supplying them with raised garden beds
For my Senior Exit Project, I would like to shadow a neurologist, the doctor concerned with diseases and disorders of brain and spinal cord. I expect to see patients of all neurological statuses coming in for examinations and tests such as MRIs and CT scans. The types of patients I will most likely see will range from Alzheimer's and autism to epilepsy and infections. With the skills I currently have, I will most likely be helping the neurologist with the initial workup, so that will mean taking blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and checking their neurological status using the Glasgow Coma Scale. I have learned these skills though the JTED Healthcare Foundations class and have been tested off accordingly so I know I am proficient in
The object of this course and this project is to provide you with a realistic situation that you are likely to face in the real world business environment. You'll be working with limited information, limited support from your client, within a limited time frame - and yet, you have to get up to speed in a new area quickly, and make informed professional recommendations based on your research and analysis.
Many people in today's society are not happy with the outsourcing that is happening in our country. Many people believe that the outsourcing is taking millions of jobs from our economy. Industries are given tax breaks when they move to an area and the government thinks and knows that they will bring in thousands or millions of dollars in revenue. Outsourcing also hurts our economy because it is putting us farther into our deficit. Outsourcing is not a good thing because they move to new countries so they do not have to pay American taxes, it hurts our economy, and one of the only ways that they will stay in our country is to take tax breaks.
My project was to build three park benches for the Pets Alive dog walk area. This is where volunteers can walk the dogs and give them much needed out of kennel time. The volunteers/dog walkers can now sit and rest on the benches that me and my crew built and enjoy a more leisurely experience outside with the dogs.
The natural trumpet was very different in comparison to the trumpet we have and think of today. The modern trumpet is made mostly of brass and copper, three valves, and a four slides. Modern trumpets are used for many purposes including ensemble and solo playing. Early natural trumpets were short straight instruments made of wood or metal which were used for both militaristic and ceremonial purposes. The natural trumpet had no holes or valves for altering pitches, while the trumpet today has three valves for altering the pitches.

Senior project is an amazing experience for everyone who is fortunate enough to complete one. It allows us to attempt things we never would have otherwise and take a step out of our comfort zone. The most amazing thing about senior project is that it is designed to challenge students and help set us up for more in the future. It has the ability to give students a whole new perspective on their topics while also building an appreciation towards it. This is the general consensus I have gathered about senior project since I began.
As Senior Project Delivery Manager ( Lesley Smith) and my colleague were both senior staff for Energylink and well versed in GOC contracting practice and the regulations imposed by the Queensland government, we felt we obtained substantial knowledge about the case presented to us prior to our meeting with ZZZ, which gave us ability to plan for a mutually beneficial outcome for both Energylink and ZZZ. I understood the implications in regards to the current “notice of breach of tender” that was issued against me from ZZZ and what this may mean for Energylink moving into these negotiations. Our plan was to partake in an integrative bargaining agreement with ZZZ. We planned to establish rapport with ZZZ and try to make the negotiation pragmatic and logical. We decided to utilise referent power as tactic, as we had all been in the construction game for many years and most of us were already familiar with each other. Sometimes people assume the worst when there has been no wrong doing. Although Sam and I planned all stages of the conversation beforehand I do feel we could have spent a little more time working on the line of questioning we wanted to employ. It was agreed we would commence the conversation with open ended questions to hopefully get them to divulge their wants at the start, and then we would be in a more powerful and comfortable position to commence the negotiations. The tactic worked initially however as
Alike many students who had the opportunities to go forward the senior grant project, I not only learned a lot about the process of putting together an event, in addition I was able to learn a lot about myself and what I’m capable of achieving when I put my all into something. Something that I learned was that I must always be able to be flexible with the schedule because things aren't always going to follow through exactly as planned. For example, there were moments when the students were having a conversation on behalf of the topic, but time would force us to move on to the next topic. The students still wanted to continue the previous conversation. This to me was fine and great because it shows that they were interested in the subject. Consequently ,
To begin with, I started off with creating my project using a sheet that was passed out to everyone and we wrote down our ideas/interests and then problems that were present throughout the world. Hearing my and other people’s ideas helped me to begin to formulate a project. It was definitely not easy to come up with or pick a project because there are millions of ideas for this kind of broad project. To become final with my idea I talked it through with my mom and she told me it was doable and a great project. To add, my elevator pitch let me know you Mrs. Wunder, were okay with my project.
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma—which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary”. — Steve Jobs, Commencement address, Stanford University, June 12, 2005
Project management takes the form of many job positions and roles within a job force. Project management to some, means a person who manages a project. This is a very broad title. Project managers can manage a project that covers a new program release, an implementation of a new method, or the creation of a physical product for a customer. For me, project management is taking a task from start to finish, with the goals of the customer in mind. Three roles that I would be interested in accepting would be a Retail Construction Project manager, Construction Project Manager, or Project Manager for Space planning.
The second project we were assigned that year and that I enjoyed was to research two authors from the 1800s or so, in collaboration with a partner that we got assigned to. For the first author we had the option to either create a power point presentation or create our own website about that particular author. My partner and I choose to build our
In Salem, Oregon a Hansen family lived there. The son is named Scott Hansen, he is an only child. One night the parents decided to go out, and hire a babysitter for Scott. Later that night the parents had a bit too much to drink, and decided to drive home. They decided to go on the backroads, because they were drunk. It was all fun and games until suddenly they saw their life flash before their eyes. It turns out that there was a semi going really fast, and hit them. When the ambulance got there they were dead on the scene. The hospital called his babysitter, and told her the terrible news. She dropped the phone when she heard, and started sobbing. Then Scott came up to her and asked her what had happened. She told him what had happened to
