All through history society has shown many different heroic figures that are usually more in the fictional side, such as Odysseus from the Odyssey. In this time for society there is many different types of real live people who are seen as a hero. Before it was very rare to see a women as a hero. But things have changed. For this change the expectations for them are very haugh. Society's high expectations and the need for perfection from women who inspire younger children are irrational.
Athletes are one of the people who are seen as heroes in this society so they are expected to do many things. One female athlete who is looked highly on is tennis player Serena Williams, not only is she a female athlete she is also african american which makes people look at her differently too. So according to the high expectations society has she also isn't allowed to express how she feels and or keep her feelings to herself, which is why the expectations are irrational. A Disney star turned bad they call her. Before she was how she is now many looked up to her for being a perfect good girl, a celebrity who was expected to do nothing bad in her life but that meant to her that she couldn't really show who she was as a person. Because of the high expectations she was being held up with on being the perfect good good she felt trapped.
