According to Ric Burns, over 10 million immigrants came into New York and big changes stared to happened. For example, when the immigrant arrived to New York the emerge of skyscraper began and immigrant were the main constructers of those tall buildings. Chapter four of New Jersey: A History of the Garden State by Maxine N. Laurie and Richard Veit discusses and evaluates the early Republic in New Jersey as well as, the political advances and developmental adjustments. I broke this chapter down into the subcategories and critically read the subcategories I found most interesting which were the Women’s Suffrage Movement, African Americans and Gradual Emancipation, and the Conclusion. The conclusion was very short, but it encompassed the entire reading well and really helped me reinforce what I had just read. I was surprised to discover that New Jersey had some progressive tendencies, for example, allowing women to vote in state elections for approximately 30 years. The law was carefully crafted making it difficult for women to vote, however, single and widowed women that owned their own property were temporarily granted the right to vote. The right was eventually revoked, but it was pretty neat to think that my home state allowed women’s suffrage several years before the women’s suffrage movement proved successful granting women the right to vote under the new, 19th amendment.
The Erie Canal, which was three-hundred sixty miles, forty feet wide and four feet deep at its completion, was able to bridge a connection from Lake Erie to the Hudson and was a reliable form of transportation (as the roads were not the network it is today). The Erie Canal, after its construction was able to rupture the boundaries of western and eastern (northeastern) New York and encouraged inward and outward flow (migration) of people, animals, goods, money, trade, sickness and disease, ideas, and news, and was able to deconstruct as well as reconstruct the identity of New York State as a consequence of its success. The purpose of this paper is to illustrate how the Erie Canal shaped and reshaped the identity of New York State through the compression and expansion of space and time during industrialization, the second wave of globalization, through the canal’s economic success, and through the rupturing of boundaries.

New York City is made up of five boroughs, which include the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island. Within these boroughs, there are high and low-income neighborhoods that contain either high or low status organizational structures or facilities. Each division has their own characteristics and top attractions, such as the Empire State building, Central Park, or Times Square. As New York City may be known for great food and fun attractions, New York faces infrastructure problems within each borough. New York City’s infrastructure funding is limited in lower income neighborhoods, where money needed to upkeep the city goes toward prime tourist’s areas or residents living in high status neighborhoods, such as The Upper East Side of Manhattan, Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, and Lenox Hill, Manhattan. Moreover, abandoned buildings, poor sewage conditions, and rocky roads and streets are examples of low-income area infrastructure problems that may hinder neighborhood growth both structurally and economically. Harlem, East Brooklyn, and South Bronx are low-income parts of New York that lack new and refined facilities, roads, plumbing, and fundamental structures, which contribute to high crime and arrests.
Every time I hear this song it makes me long to leave all of my responsibilities and head off to the city of dreams. A trip to New York has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. I have always wanted to visit the place of tall buildings, history, and where culture is intertwined with its people. I have wanted to live the fast pace life of a New Yorker, where I could stand outside and see, smell, and taste all of the experiences that this city has to offer. I have been building and building this ideal image in my mind for so long. If I ever get to New York, will I be disappointed by the city that never sleeps? The city that is a part of almost every movie I watch. Can New York live up to the expectations I have
The environment in which Armor Seed faces can be grim at times. Companies in the agricultural economy are finding ways to reduce costs in order to survive this recession. Through all of this, the input sector continues to post significant profit margins and high volumes of sales. In this particular area, Armor is what the Boston Consulting Group Matrix would call a “star” because they are experiencing growth from new customers and they have a strong market presence in our area. By including a number of different crop seeds, we can predict that Armor will continue to expand
