In the state of California predatory offenses consist of sexual battery by restraint, misdemeanor child molestation, lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14 or 15, continuous abuse of a child, statutory rape, annoying a molested child under the age of 18, oral copulation, solicitation of a minor, continuous sexual abuse of a child, and lewd and lascivious of a child under the age of 14. Sexual crimes is one of the most world wide offense, and in California is no different from what is taken place all over the world and is mostly targeted toward children. Despite trying to gain control over sexual predators and hold them accountable for their actions, this still remains to be a huge problem. Sexual abuse by restraint is when an offender illegally restrain a victim and while the victim was restrained the offender has touched the victim on intimate parts of the body against the victim 's will. The touching of the victim was done for the sole purpose of getting a aroused sexually. If an offender is charged with a misdemeanor for this crime they will receive a mandatory sentence of 6 months in jail and have to register as a sex offender. If charged with a felony the offender can be sentenced up to an extra 5 years if the victim was greatly harmed.
