There are many cases when these medications can be avoided due to their know predisposition to cause the sexual in fulfillment. The underlying causes for certain forms of the dysfunctions are known, while others are not. Ways that this understanding can be improved include more research through brain mapping using am fMRI. By determining what areas of the brain control or send the desire/arousal signals to the sexual organs can improve in some cases improve sexual functioning. Another option is to continue to understand the functions of the different sections of the brain that are not functioning properly that contribute to other mental disorders that are linked to sexual dysfunctions. When there is a clear understanding of how the brain works there is a better chance of improving sexual dysfunctions or curing them all together. There are many types of sexual dysfunction disorders that are caused by physiological disorders, medications, certain medical conditions, injury and/or brain surgery.
