There are many different techniques but one that will always work no matter what is being abstinent. Abstinence is the act or practice from refraining from indulging a desire, in this case sexual intercourse. You can also only have sexual intercourse with only one partner preferably your spouse. This way you can assure that your partner is not having sexual involvements with anyone else. Another method is a condom, it is placed over the males penis to protect both partners of any bacteria or diseases that might possibly exist. Its also a big factor to buy the right type of condom, some are old and there may be holes that could not be seen with the naked eye which means bacteria could travel through the holes as well as sperm. A good condom to use would be one with a small latex tip to avoid breaking the condom. Overall, latex condoms are the best to avoid STD’s or even pregnancy. Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) are one of the most common and preventable health care problems in the world. The ageism of the population and the increase in the number of older adults, along with healthcare advances that provide better and longer quality of life, has encourage changes in sexuality amongst older adults. This increase has prompted healthcare workers to familiarize themselves with the sexuality of older adults. In this report, I plan to discuss the significance of this topic, the concern for the public, and interventions that can be implemented from a Community Health Nurse prospective.
Now that I have talked about how people can protect themselves from STD's, let's talk about the different kinds of sexually transmitted diseases. There are eight common disease on the rise which are stated in the book titled, Straight Talk About Sexually Transmitted Diseases, written by Michael Brodman, John Thacker, and Rachel Kranz. It lists the top eight to be: Chlamdia, Gonorrhea, Genital Warts, Genital Herpes, Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID), Hepatitis, Syphilis, and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). I'm sure everyone has heard of the most publicized one, AIDS, and I am sure most people have heard of some of the other ones, and I am also sure that a lot of people are not educated about theses diseases. I am going to talk a little about each one so people can see that sex does not only mean enjoyment, or getting pregnant, it also means there's
Sexually transmitted infections are a very current, modern day health care issue. These infections are passed during unprotected genital, anal or oral sex. There are sometimes symptoms of the various infections however there are some infections that can also be symptom free and therefore can go undetected for quite some time. Young people in the UK typically aged 15-24 have the highest rates of sexually transmitted infections. There is a link between this age group and those living in socioeconomically deprived areas, suggesting these particular regions need better and easier access to healthcare services in order to detect, treat and avoid further spreading and damage caused by the infections. Raising awareness of the causes of each infection and symptoms is vital. The most common types of infections are: Chlamydia, Genital herpes and warts, gonorrhea,

Gonorrhea and chlamydia are sexually transmitted diseases that tend to be more apparent in males than females. Men tend to develop symptoms within days of the initial infection; they usually manifest as inflammation of the urethra, painful urination, and abnormal discharge. Symptoms are so obvious that men seek immediate medical attention before complications occur; women on the other hand, tend to have little to no symptoms at all. A female’s symptoms are so mild that they are often mistaken as a simple bladder or vaginal infection and go untreated. Unfortunately, these diseases do not go away on their own if gonorrhea and chlamydia are not properly treated

Venereal disease can be one of many sexually transmitted diseases out there today. I have been hearing about this disease, but I really do not know that it involve diseases such as syphilis, gonorrhea, herpes, and so on, until I read the material and articles for this paper. I just understand gonorrhea and syphilis, for example, to be diseases that one could get through exposure to bodily fluid from the body, and often occurs through sexual intercourse. The word venereal disease was used until in the 90’s, when medical personnel changed it to a preferable term known as sexually transmitted disease, STDs. In this paper, I will be writing about the seriousness of the health threat to the country during World War I, the folks who were labeled
