As a freshman and going to Shabbaton for the first time, and at camp Ramah, for the first time, I think I was happy with how Shabbaton was. To start off with the packing list, since I had never been to Shabbaton before I did not know what to bring, even though they sent out a packing list, I just wanted to know what everyone was bringing and if I should bring this or that. I think I was not well enough prepared and so when Shabbaton happened I relied on the other 9th grade girls to provide me with what I needed when I realized “oops I forgot this”. Once we got to Camp Ramah Darom, after riding on a bus with our entire grade for 2 hours, we had to walk to our cabins; this was the part I was not expecting. Unfortunately, I brought a duffel bag, without wheels, so having to carry a 40-pound …show more content…
The first lunch we had was my favorite of all the meals because it was grilled cheese. I really enjoyed eating with all of the school and being able to sit where ever. Then came link, before Shabbaton I had never played link before and I thought it was a very fun all school bonding activity. Though it was very cold outside we were able to still have a fun time. During our first free time, everyone just hung out, explored the campus, and got ready for Friday night services. All of the girls put on their fancy dresses and did the makeup, and the guys also put on formal clothes. Everyone looked elegant and beautiful. Personally, I do not observe often, but the service was very nice and I could tell it meant a lot to other people. Right after dinner, we did grade activities, for the freshman we did speed dating and watched the grade that did the tinfoil fashion show. I was content with the time we spent during the grade activities but I think there could've been improvements. For the morning activities I had the hike, I thought is was very fun and I got great service at the top of the mountain above the

Sha Na Na began singing in Columbia University and later on appeared in the film called Woodstock Film. Singing classic 1950s Doo-Wop and siminal rock and roll in gold lame outfits and greased up hairdos was the biggest impression public had of the group.
The young Fortnatious lived in a town called Tilted Towers. The town is filled with different types of loot that everyone wants. However, he also lived on an island with a total of 100 people. The island was pretty big, it had 18 different locations and many more side locations.
Unit 10 was a closure for the previous four units in the process of inventing Canada. This unit based on the earliest resources on Canadian history and on the first nations whom lived in this country. This resources were about pre-Cartier and his explorations. Some nations, for example the people who lived in St. Lawrence valley – whom did not have a specific name to be called at- and historians still lacking enough evidence on their existence or what happened with them. These people who are identified as St. Lawrence Iroquoians were lived in the contact area which means the conquerors reached them first. The Iroquoians were exposed to all the dangers Europeans carried into the native lands, different types of diseases they were not immune
Camp Shalom, a home away from home. Camp Shalom is a Christian camp that has been apart of my life for the past 9 years. Starting at 2nd grade kids can start going to camp for “mini camp” a camp for two days and one night. Then, when kids reach the 4th grade they are in the “village.” This is a section of camp with kids in the grades 4, 5, and 6. When kids reach 7th grade they go to “outpost.” Outpost is similar to village but with older kids. After you are done being a camper you have the opportunity to be an assistant counselor. Being an assistant counselor is when my life truly started to change.
A reemerging issue, that has once again surfaced in the town of Shabbona, Illinois, is the debate of whether the Potawatomi Nation tribe should build a casino in Shabbona. According to an article by Rhonda Gillespie, titled, DeKalb County, Potawatomi Nation tribe moving forward with casino plans, this issue has taken about a seven or eight year break and is now again becoming a hot topic (Gillespie). Shabbona has recently gone through an issue that was a hot debate. That issue was bringing in wind turbines onto farm ground. That issue was not miniscule and neither is this one. Even over the seven or eight year break there has been steady talk about whether the casino would be appropriate or the best thing for the small town of Shabbona. The
It was a complete transition from inner city schools to the rural countryside, this school was a turning point on respective of my previous school's education, the school curriculum was alien to me as was agriculture, school sports, cross-country running, the teacher that taught Agriculture, also taught Physical Training. It's hard to explain, coming from the inner city, and all of a sudden you’re plowing your first furrow with a cultivator, this was a totally new concept for me, the school had a snack bar that opened twice a day, and all in all, school was not too bad after all.
I visited the dorms, cafeteria, pool and gym. I got to observe a class in culinary arts. I was invited to stay and bake cookies. I spoke to the instructor and decided I would not go to any other vocation. As I love to bake and this was the place for me. There
We had field day and other activities to bond as a dorm. Field day was where dorms compete against dorms. In our dorm, we came up of several cheers and dances, we designed our own team clothes and we helped each other get ready. This was one of the most memorable day for me, as we all worked as a team and cheered for each other. There were races like the three legged race, sack jump, spin race and much more. I was also able to gain more exposure and establish friendships with people from around the world. These ranges from California to Florida London to Germany, Indonesia to Dubai. These are some of my other
What is Judaism? Who are Jews? Judaism is considered one of the oldest and most popular monotheistic religions today. Judaism’s followers are called Jews and they have been through many tough challenges and trials but are still able to proudly identify themselves as Jews. Jewish beliefs, customs, history, holidays, symbols, and the holocaust are just a few of the things that make Jews who they are.

I’m finally a freshman! My first day at Southwest Early College Campus was great,I made two friends.I didn’t get to ride the bus for a whole week because they didn’t get my transportation situation fixed. My dad drove me to school.
I managed to survive my first day of being a freshmen with only minor issues. The most embarrassing part of my day claimed my late arrival to nearly every class period. I couldn’t remember where any
Leadership of Napoleon There are some important characteristics to be a leader. Napoleon, the leader in Animal Farm by George Orwell, is trusted by his henchman in the farm so that he can be a leader even he when does something wrong. The abilities of followers is one of the traits to be a leader and these greatly affect the success of their master. Three things which Napoleon has can make an effective leader. Napoleon could keep his status as a leader because of his firm hangers-on and believers, such as Squealer and the dogs.
We all have different kinds of the first day of school experiences, but for every student, I feel that stepping into the first day of school as a freshman would mark as the most memorable day in all high school years. Before the first day of school, I quickly thought that my freshman year would turn into the toughest and saddest year in my experience. My best friend would not attend the same high school with me, which already gives me many conclusions of how sad and hard of a school year it would result. However, maybe things will turn out differently than we think if we just change something about our way of living it.
