1. The significance to the story of Miss Johnson and the detailed description of her appearance is that Miss Johnson was the young boy’s chance to get away from isolation and get a chance to fit in with society. To the narrator, Miss Johnson represents some sort of freedom, that which makes one feel accepted and welcomed by everyone, and Miss Johnson makes the young boy feel that. All the boys like Miss Johnson, including the young boy which gives the feeling that he’s fitting in with society and is being accepted as an equal to everyone else.
Early in the novel, Salva is clearly terrified, but still strong emotionally. Salva, curious and hopeful. Has started his life by hearing a “Crack”
Is on page 253, were the author wrote, “on the tombstone, beneath her name and the dates of her birth and death, was an engraving of a maple tree, ands it was only thean, when I saw the stone and her name-Chanhassen “Sugar” Pickford Hiddle-and the engraving of the tree, that I knew, by myself and for myself, that she wasn't coming back.” This shows that seeing everything her mom saw on the road trip gave Sal peace in her heart that it wasn't her mom's fault for not coming back. And that the whole time she was wanting to bring her mom back she wouldn't have been able to. This external force changed Sal the most because now she doesn't try to say it was her dad's fault foes her mother's leaving. It also changed her because she doesn't think about the bring her mom
Mary Engelbreit once said, “If you don’t like something change it; if you can’t change it; change the way you think about it.” This quote is a strong connection with Sal, when she grew up she had tons of external forces that caused her to think about things in a different way than before. She never really knew how to feel sometimes because she didn’t know how they would turn out. Sal couldn’t just change her problems, but she could change the way she looked at them. In the book Walk Two Moons, Sharon Creech, external forces greatly impact Sal’s life growing up.

Salva couldnt hold on to this forver. This was the best they couldve done for his uncle, bury him. There was no way that his unc couldve cam back to life so Salva had to get over this tragic event to keep going. Even though he was in shock, he kept on traveling the next day.He couldnt stop moving. He knw that in his heart. It was logical that he continued with the group, othrwise he wouldve been left behind as the group didnt care for him any more since his uncle died. Following his uncle's death, "..the group's attitude toward him changed."(65) they had all thought that he was too small and weak to go along with the group. So as predicted they've started to neglect him again. Even though times were tough, Salva still begged for scraps because it was all he was going to get and he had to accept that. One of Salva's goals was to reunite with his family again. But deep in his mind he always knew that ther was a possiblity that he could never see his family again bcause they couldve ben kileld. Have you ever lost someone very important to you and you didn't want to accept it because you were really close to them? Much like Sal didn't want to accept her mother's death, but eventually she changes. In the novel Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech, Sal changes internally and externally because she moves and she meets Phoebe and goes through everything with her and she goes on a trip with gram and gramps to see her mom's grave on her birthday.

Bombs and shooting took place outside his school. He had no chose to leave, in order to survive. When he found group of people, they left him.
To begin with, Salva needs determination. Salva has to be determined in order to make it through the obstacles of the desert, on his journey to Ethiopia. Salva had stubbed his toe so hard that his toe nail came off. Salva came close to giving up, but his uncle kept him determined by giving him goals. ”When they reached the bushes, Uncle pointed out a clump of rocks up ahead, and told Salva to walk as far as the rocks,”(P.54)
"A Long Walk to Water" is written by Linda Sue Park. The book is about a boy named Salva who lived in Southern Sudan in the 1980s and how he made his way to America. His culture affected where he lived, the beliefs he had about other tribes and who the rivals were to him. Salva faced many hardships and problems throughout his journey to stay safe and get away from war. In the book "A Long Walk to Water", survival was possible because Salva had perseverance, support from others and hope.
“Just over a year ago, my father plucked me up like a weed and took me and all our belongings… and we drove three hundred miles straight north and stopped in front of a house in Euclid, Ohio” (Creech, 1). Sal moved away from her home, in Bybanks which she adored very much. But what were the reasons? In “Walk Two Moons,” Sharon Creech uses settings that show significance to the protagonist Sal, by connecting it to how long she’s lived there, features of the setting, and her loved ones.
One was the journey Sal took with Gram and Gramps throughout the United States to get to Lewiston, Idaho in one week. They traveled to Lexington, Mount Rushmore, and then to Old Faithful. These tourist attractions are some of the few places Sal, Gram, and Gramps visited on their road trip.
In this paragraph I will be telling you how Lewiston, Idaho is very important to Sal from Walk Two Moons. To start this out you need some background, Sal and her Grandparents went to Lewiston to see Sal’s missing mom. They eventually made it there, after a long car ride that had some occasional stoppings for some sights to see for Gram. But then ram all of a sudden felt sick and Gramps took her to the closest hospital. Next, they went to the hospital and Gramps refused to leave Gram their alone. But, did you forget? The whole reason why they were going there was to find Sal’s mom. After, Gramps told Sal to drive herself to the place where Sal’s mom was resting, but along the way the police asked how old she was and she said that she was 13.
