I sat at the desk, trying to write the essay. Staring at the topic I deliberately chose for myself, "my mother.” I found it’s hard to set pen to paper at first. For a moment, the memory of 18 years with my mother suddenly turned into a blur, and I could not clearly catch any of it. After reading the article “My Mother Never Worked,” I began to recall something that I have forgotten so far and taken for granted, which is everything in my life my mother has created for me. Also, she made a huge sacrifice for my future two years ago in her life. The greatest love in the world is the unselfish motherly love. I have a great mother. My mother is an educated woman, who has many good qualities. Like all other mothers, she is responsible and she devotes most of her efforts to our family. She is also always being very careful and helping me a lot in both my life and my studies. Back in the day when I was little, every morning, she got up early to make breakfast for me no matter how tired she might have been. When I was little, she helped me to prepare my schoolbag and check my homework. When I finished my homework, she often checked it for me and pointed out some mistakes. My mother is a learned woman, so I often consult her whenever I have any difficulty with school work. Her explanations are very helpful, so she is not only my mother but also my teacher.
