My most favorable event was when we did the scavenger hunt at The Riverquarium. I learned about a variety of species of fish. The Spanish Hogfish was one of them. The Hogfish lives in the Gulf of Mexico and is purple and yellow. In addition, there was the Blue Hole Springs. The Blue Hole had carp, bass, alligator snapping turtles, sunfish, and a sturgeon. The sturgeon was a black sturgeon. I noticed that it has sharp bone running along its back. The plaque stated the sturgeon uses those bones as a defense mechanism. For example, if another fish were to eat the sturgeon the bones will cut through the other fish.
“Rosette was born the same day that Gambo disappeared. That is how it was. Rosette helped me through the worry that they would take him alive and with the emptiness he left in my heart. I was absorbed in my daughter. That Gambo was running through the jungle pursued by Cambray 's dogs occupied only a part of my thoughts” (Allende, 134) Those words are said by Zarité, the main character of the book Island Beneath the Sea by the Chilean Isabel Allende, translated and published in the United States on 2009. It starts on the Island of Saint-Domingue (actual Haiti) from 1770 to 1793 and the second part, take place on Louisiana, USA, from 1793 to 1810. About the main character, Allende said: "Of all the characters I created, that of Zarité for me that I have more the feeling that existed". While Island beneath the Sea, I have been clarifying, predicting and finally, evaluating.
America is not universally free. This is easily proven with examples from a variety of subjects. For example, take LGBT rights. De jure, gay marriage is legal nationwide. But de facto, when one looks at the social reality dealt with by people who are not heterosexual, one finds that not everyone has the realistic ability to do so. Even on a de jure level, there are the “bathroom bills,” passed by North Carolina and looked at by many states, designed to limit transgender people’s ability to use the bathroom.
This summer I decided that I wanted to be in the Coast Guard, to my grandfather it was the greatest thing in the world because he was in the Coast Guard too. So my mom, dad, and I went to Michigan to the big Coast Guard festival, which is when the Coast Guard brings in some of the real ships. Well my parents were so excited to go on the ships and help me learn what the Coast Guard actually does. So we went onto the ship and learned all about the ship and what this ship does. We even got to sit in the Cock Pit.
When we went to the everglades we got to see a whole bunch of intreresting things of nature. We saw alligators, birds, insects and snakes. Our boat was a fan powered boat, meaning the boat is very loud. We got to wear earphones to block our ears from the noises. When we were on the boat we went really fast through very small paths and did some 360 turns in the water which was a lot of fun. Then we got to hold a baby alligator that they had in a cage. The alligator felt really smooth, but kinda hard. It was fun to see all these different things in nature because I have never seen anything like it before.
The main character in the story is Jim Hawkins. He is a young boy who looks for adventure. He and a few experienced men search for Ben Gunn, and want to have him enlist in their cause. They steal the Hispanolia (a ship) and return it to the captain to which it rightfully belongs.
Casey island is a land of beauty is what humans would call it. We find it as a place with many resources. The main resource in which everyone should know is potatoes. They aren’t any potatoes though, they seem to be magical. It also has the many animals we all love. Monkeys, lions, tigers, and any other animal that people know. Many people go to Casey Island for a nice vacation with animals a few feet away for once and a lifetome opportunities.
my little brother, Shawn and I was walking along a beach in Miami after school, still in our uniforms and had our backpacks on our backs. It was at low tide the sand was all wet and there were pools of water all along. Shawn was picking up shells and putting them in his pocket or throwing them at the segals above.
A couple of weeks ago we went up to Lake Itasca or the headwaters of the Mississippi. It was a fun trip we went on. The water was warm and my sister and I went swimming and my parents were on the shore of Lake Itasca. The next day we were off to Minnesota's Largest Candy Store. In the store there was pop, pop rocks almost anything.
When I was ten the family decided to go on cruise to the Bahamas for a summer trip. We all were really excited to go. When the day came, we drove to Cape Canaveral to leave for the week.
What one perceives may not always be truth in society, but to what extent? Lincoln Six Echo is living in a facility with other survivors who escaped the contamination of the world, waiting to win the lottery so they can go to the island. Later does he find out that he, and everyone else in this society, are clones of other people made for organ transplants as a type of health insurance. In the movie The Island directed by Michael Bay depicts how perception and reality differ through how Lincoln Six Echo and his community see the world, along with how Dr. Merrick’s clients see what his practice is.
It was unusual to see so many people there, but school had just gotten out for the summer and people were ready to soak up the sun. It was hard to find a place that wasn’t right next to someone, but we eventually managed to find a good spot. We laid out our towels and got right to undressing down to our swimsuits. We dumped out our bag full of beach supplies and my mom began to lather everyone up with sunscreen. Me being the unluckiest person ever, am as pale as a porcelain doll and the most likely to burn. This required me to be smothered in sunscreen even more than the rest. Now that we had our ghostly white sheen and smelled like chemically produced summer, we were ready to begin our beach activities. My mom being the munificent person she is, promised if we behaved, we could get ice cream from our most beloved ice cream shop. We unanimously decided we would be on our best behavior. We had the same order every time we went 1 cookie dough on a waffle cone, 1 mint chocolate chip in a cup, 1 cookies and cream on a regular cone, and 1 plain vanilla also on a waffle cone. My sisters would always tease me saying it was boring to get vanilla (even though they too would sometimes get vanilla). My sister Shannon and I started to build sand castles while my mom and Amanda laid out on their towels. Everytime we went to the beach, we would try our absolute hardest to make tremendously sized sand castles. It was
My brother and I would do a lot together, he was my sisters’ best friend. The best days of my life were spent with him. We went to the mall and spent our whole life savings, then from there we went to the sponge docks in tarpon springs which smelled like seafood and ocean water. The following day we went to Weechi Wachee Springs to go swimming and jump off of fifty foot cliffs, after that we went to this haunted place called the monkey asylum where we ran out because we both were way too scared to go. It was covered in graffiti on the stone walls and had monkey cages all over. Being dark outside didn’t really help us out anymore so we just decided to leave and hang out at my house.
