Large cage means extra space for him to pee and poop. You can make it comfy for him with a pup bed and also block the extra space. Generally, they don’t like to sleep in a messy area.
• After waking up or returning home, it would be better to take him out until he is relieved. Small treats or praising his on doing his task would be a positive support. Be excited when he goes outside – he would know he is doing something right. If he is hesitant to go out, take him indoor for a minute and then try again. Shih Poo puppies should be habituated with this, so that they can do it willing when mature.
• You need to extra watchful with a Shih Tzu Poo running around indoors. If he starts to muddle around just pick him up and take him outside. Be serious his he finish his business there. But, don’t scream at him for messing inside. He may just end up barking relentlessly.
• Don’t hasten to train Shih Poos. You need to be regular and tolerant. Some dogs can pick up on the tricks more rapidly. They can easily learn tricks like fetch, roll over. However, some take longer than others. Follow a pattern. It look cruel to a puppy locked in a cage, once trained you don’t have to lock them
From day one, it is important that a Shih Tzu knows their human family is the alpha dog. This way, they won't be jealous with the arrival of a new baby or with the addition of a new member in the household.
Also, this would be a good time to look at the intelligence and trainability. This was where I really narrowed it down to wanting a shih tzu. You have to look at where you live, so I love in an apartment so it definitely has to be an inside dog that does not need to be outside unless using the bathroom. Also, since I move around a lot going from place to place the dog has to be intelligent and adaptable enough for new places.
You should never ignore problems in behavior when you are training your dog. Even if you are training a younger dog, you cannot allow bad behavior to slip by or this will become a habit with your dog. Usually with a bit of work and planning you can stop the bad behavior before it becomes a habit. Remember, it's never too early to begin training a dog.
They do not move a lot, unless there is a need to their movement. Dogs also do not create tricks; you need to teach them every single movement. Another important part in raising dogs is training; you need to have extra time to train your dog. Teaching your dog to obey instructions requires you allowing the dog to do the right commands and correct the wrong ones. You must never be too hard on the dog and avoid striking it; otherwise it will not obey you. If it tends to obey you because of punishment, it will be unhappy. Try to reward your dog as you train it, to get what you want and to make your dog follow the instructions. As a result of dogs requiring cleaning, exercising, and training, you have to provide your dog with proper leadership. In consequence, you will spend much more time to take care of your dog.
He knows when it is time for my fiancé and I to go to work, he knows when to expect us home as well. He also knows when it is time to go to bed, if we are watching TV too late he lets us know we are off schedule. He is quite entertaining. If he wants to play and we aren’t in the mood, he will play fetch by himself. He will literally throw his own rope to the next room go get it and repeat this until he is done. Really, he is not that hard to train. The main thing is to get him to quit chewing my stuff up. He will be the best dog ever when he gets out of the chewing phase. Please dear GOD let this be a phase and something that he will grow out of. Some dogs never grow out of this and I would be devastated if he doesn’t. This means I would either make him an outside dog, or I will have to rehome him. I love him too much already to give up hope. I must remind you Ghost is 5-months-old. In the 4 months and 2 weeks we’ve had him, he has been trained to; sit, lay down, go outside, walk on a leash (still some kinks), roll over, and when I say “go to your cage” he will. I just need to learn how to channel his energy or get him to focus, which is challenging because he is too hyper. I try the whole running him thing and that only works for a short period. He has limitless energy. This isn’t like keeping sugar from a child and they will calm down, this canine has no limits to his abilities. He is so smart it is
Though they are capable of learning and following several commands, they don't always feel the need to go along with your agenda. It's best to start training this breed as early as you can so he gets used to doing things the way you want. Prepare yourself for a bit of a stubborn streak, however, and some periodic mischief. First-time dog owners can do well with the breed but may want to consider some obedience classes. Getting Along
These doggies can make perfect apartment dogs from the reason that they are small and quickly get used to life in a big city. However, if you live in the country they greatly adapt to such a life: Yorkies willingly explore new places and objects. So, you have to be certain that there are no holes or breaks on your fence because Yorkies are always ready to discover new lands. But if you want to keep your pet inside all the time
He's smart so he'll also need a challenge. Give him the training he wants or else face the music. This breed of terrier will likely develop a few bad habits. Play a game of catch with a Frisbee or rubber ball. If you're really up for it, sign your beloved up for competition. You both may have a great time.
He is an only dog, who spends most of his time indoors throughout the day. He is potty trained, so when I am at work or school, I allow him to roam
Poodle. Poodle is one of the famous dog breeds that are generally well-loved by many. Poodles tend to win many competitions and impress a lot of people by their elegance and regal attitude. Your pooch ought to sit whenever he in front of an entryway. This prevents any hazardous situations that may be a result when many puppies pull to a door. Be keen on strolling with your pooch and welcome other puppy owners to share you strolling if they are kindred. You shouldn't still speak to other puppy owners while your puppy is lonely. You shouldn't take balls with you as this may release possession battles especially for
Sometimes it will be your puppy's fault, but realize you may sometimes be at fault as well. Puppies take time to develop their abilities to hold their digestive and urinary systems long enough to go outside, and may not always let you know that they need to go. This means that if they're not outside when the urge hits, an accident is going to happen. This is why it's essential to have a schedule in place to take your puppy out after each meal and several other times throughout the day. Yelling at them or pushing their nose in the mess only confuses them, and it's more likely to create fear in your puppy towards you than helping them understand and learn what they should be doing. Instead, praise or reward them when they go to the bathroom outside. This can be with a treat, or simply with a positive vocal tone and physical affection. Most dogs have a strong desire to please their owners, and positive reinforcement goes a long ways in reinforcing good behaviors. This reward philosophy will play an important role in the overall successful training of your puppy from potty training to obedience
