Shooting clay pigeons, aiming for small groups, firing at paper targets, and slinging arrows are all part of the 4-H Shooting Sports project. Area youth ages 8-19 years-old who would like to participate in the program must enroll in 4-H no later than Nov. 14. “Last year the Shooting Sports program was really big. We had over 100 kids in the program,” said Mary Kay Sell, 4-H Youth Program Assistant. “With that many kids it often makes scheduling a challenge which is why it’s important that youth who want to participate do so by Nov. 14th,” she said. The project area includes the following project choices: archery, BB gun, Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP), .22 caliber pistol and air pistol. Youth will learn safe gun and bow handling skills and the fundamentals of shooting under the guidance of knowledgeable adult volunteers.…show more content…
CMP practice will be held the last Sunday of each month at 1 p.m. at the Troy Burn
