Larry Fitzgerald was born on August 31, 1983, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to parents Larry Fitzgerald Sr. and Carol Fitzgerald. Larry Fitzgerald Sr. works as a sportswriter for the Minnesota Spokesman Recorder and Carol Fitzgerald was a teacher. Larry has one younger brother named Marcus Fitzgerald. His brother Marcus Fitzgerald was a wide receiver in college for the Sacramento Mountain Lions. Currently Marcus is an actor, model, and engineer. Before Fitzgerald started his NFL career, he used to be a Minnesota Vikings ball boy. Fitzgerald went to high school at Academy of Holy Angels in Richfield, Minnesota. Fitzgerald played football during high school as a wide receiver in high school. During his senior year of high school, he had 73 receptions and 17 touchdowns.
Fitzgerald went to college at the University of Pittsburgh, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from 2002-2004. Fitzgerald’s time in college at the University of Pittsburgh was excellent in terms of football success. Fitzgerald received the Walter Camp Award and the Fred Biletnikoff Award. Both of these awards show that Fitzgerald is a great receiver and good football player in general. While still in college, Larry’s mom passed away in 2003 after battling breast cancer for 7 years.

Fitzgerald has played for the Arizona cardinals for 13 years and is still on their active roster. Fitzgerald has managed 14,389 receiving yards, 104 touchdowns, and 41 100 yard receiving games. During this time Larry Fitzgerald has been given many awards in his time in the NFL. Fitzgerald has received the All-Pro Award in 2008, 2009, and 2011. Fitzgerald helps his team go to the 2009 super bowl which helped him win the Best NFL Player ESPY Award that same year. Fitzgerald received the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award in 2012.
