Fidel "Eddie" Valdez Ramos (born March 18, 1928), popularly known as FVR, was the 12th President of the Philippines from 1992 to 1998. During his six years in office, Ramos was widely credited and admired by many for revitalizing and renewing international confidence in the Philippine economy.
Prior to his election as president, Ramos served in the Cabinet of President Corazon Aquino first as chief-of-staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and, later on, as Secretary of National Defense from 1986 to 1991.
During the historic 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution, Ramos upon the invitation of then Defense Minister Juan Ponce Enrile, was hailed as a hero even though he was not part of the plan by many Filipinos for his decision to

It is during this assignment where he forged his life-long friendship with his junior officer Maj. Jose T. Almonte, who went on to become his National Security Advisor throughout during his administration from 1992–1998.

Headed the Philippine Constabulary and Integrated National Police on 1972 when then President Ferdinand Marcos, who was elected on 1965 imposed martial law to stay in power and to establish a dictatorship in the country, Ramos, in his capacity, was responsible for the arrest of political personalities, media and activists etc., but he made efforts in order for them to be well-treated while in detention, despite abuses on some of them by few of his subordinates. Nine years later, martial law would be lifted on 1981 but Ramos' second cousin still retains strong absolute powers in governing the Philippines.
Due to his accomplishments, Ramos became one of the candidates to become the new chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippineson 1981, to replace the retiring General Romeo Espino. However, Marcos bypassed him and instead, appointed his trusted military officer and former driver, General Fabian Ver into the top military post.

Upon McKinley’s assassination, a (relatively) young Theodore Roosevelt found himself in the position of President of the United States. A man of action – perhaps unnecessary action- Roosevelt was unafraid of the political consequences of his bold and often unilateral decision making, both domestically and abroad. U.S. governance in the Philippines had already

The Filipino people had helped the US fight the Spanish-American War in hope to gain independence in return. However, instead of gaining independence the Philippines was annexed to the United States on December 10, 1898. When the Filipino’s had found they were going to be ruled over once again they were very unhappy, after all they had helped the US. When Aguinaldo had found out that the Philippines were going to be controlled by the US, he had declared war on the United States.
When he returned to New York, he wanted to reenter politics. Theodore Roosevelt was appointed as the head of the U.S. Civil Service Commissioner in 1889. After this, he stepped down and became New York City Police Commissioner. He served as police commissioner of the New York Police Department for two years, and then he accepted his new appointment as Assistant Secretary of the Navy, given to him by President McKinley. As Assistant Secretary of the Navy, his work was geared towards making the U.S. Navy stronger and preparing them for any potential threats, such as from the Spanish Empire. When war did break out between Spain and the United States in 1898, he was ready. He told Admiral Dewey to attack the Spanish in the Philippine Islands. He then resigned his post as assistant secretary and helped organize and lead a volunteer regiment in the Army known as the Rough Riders. Under his leadership, the Rough Riders defeated the Spanish garrison in the Battle of San Juan Hill in Cuba in July of 1898.
The Democratic National Convention hosted in 2012 were like the conventions in the past in which key Democrats would conjoin and give speeches to have their candidate elected for president. The goal of the Democratic National Convention in 2012 was aimed to have President Barack Obama reelected. One of the commonalities among the speeches from Democrats like Elizabeth Warren, Julian Castro, and Martin O’Malley was the mentioning of the American Dream. By appealing to American values such as you can achieve anything as long as you work hard and promising to fix the uneven distribution of resources to the different social classes, people believed that Barack Obama was the person who understood their plight. The Democratic platform that year stood

Thank you, Ricky for your support; Jorge Ramos is an excellent reporter and an avid defender of the oppressed and did not deserve to be disrespected by Donald Trump. Mr. Trump may be a great business man, and as a Latina I had a lot of respect for him. However, my respect for Mr. Trump has disappeared since the moment he decided to further show hatred toward my people by humiliating or attempting to do so when he arrogantly attacked Jorge Ramos. Mr. Ramos is such a professional and has so much class that such attack only served to reinforce his support for our people. As Latinos/Hispanics we cannot allow someone like Donald Trump to destroy what so many honest and hard working immigrants -(not only Hispanics/Latinos) have worked so hard to

General Motors is one of the world's most dominant automakers from 1931. After 1980s economic recession the main goal for automobile companies was cost reduction. Customers became more price-sensitive. Also Japanese competitors came into market with the new effective system of production. So market was highly competitive and directed toward price reduction. The case states that in 1991 GM suffered $ 4.5 billion losses and most part of the costs of manufacturing was due to purchased components. GM NA hired Lopez in order to find the way from "extraordinary" situation and reduce costs.
The assassination of opposition leader Benigno (Ninoy) Aquino upon his return to the Philippines in 1983, after a long period of exile, coalesced popular dissatisfaction with Marcos and set in motion a succession of events that culminated in a snap presidential election in February 1986. The opposition united under Aquino's widow, Corazon Aquino, and Salvador Laurel, head of the United Nationalist Democratic Organization (UNIDO). The election was marred by widespread electoral fraud on the part of Marcos and his supporters.
When talking about Philippine Administrative System, first thing that comes to mind is about the government and its political divisions in the country. It is about the nations’s political hierarchy such as the central government, provinces, municipalities and barangay. However, these divisions and subdivisions can be attributed to our past history. It is not a plant that simply blooms from nowhere. The Philippine Administrative System is dynamic, shaped and evolved through time. From Spanish colonial period to the present administration, the mode of bureacracy is adopted, patterned and improved depending on the needs and wants of the administration. Needs, in terms of the welfare of the society. Wants,
