The scent of cotton candy wafted closer, and I turned to find Loki, as a fly, literally buzzing around my ear, to quickly change into his godly, human form.
“So, this is where I find you? Ola was worried,” Loki said. He pinched his nose. “Oh my, you stink.”
I’d never been as relieved to see anyone as I was to see him. I’d been tiptoeing around Lady Hel’s house for hours, hoping not to wake up the girls and have them ask me about Ola. Emili’s coughing and hacking combined with my guilt in not bringing back a treatment for her, too. “Sort of stating the obvious,” I muttered. I’d worn the stink so long that I couldn’t smell it any longer, and I guess Sparkle had had enough, too, because she’d not found her way to hide back in my strands.

I was tired, frustrated, and now he felt it necessary to point out the obvious
Where did that come from?
“We are on the brink of destruction and you are concerned that I should douse myself in some eau de toilet.”
“Calm down. I’d be happy if you doused yourself in the water from the toilet. Trust me, I like you like you are, but you stink and possibly are carrying all sorts of bacteria to eradicate human kind on your beautiful body.” A wide grin then crossed his face. “Of course, if you’d rather have a hand, I know where the best bathroom is, the most comfortable bathrobe and maybe even can start a fire so you can rest.”
“Rest?” Even the word itself felt like a respite. I’d been fighting, trying, struggling for days, and rest wasn’t something I’d had enough of.
“You can relax. If this battle we are about to fight goes sideways, then we should do the things we might regret missing out on.” For a moment, I realized that his holding a loofa would not be about washing my back, but more like my backside. My nipples hardened.
He came in closer and his greenish eyes went impeccably blue, deep blue like cold oceans. “You see, my love, I could give you everything you could ever desire; be the love you never knew you needed, fill you with bottomless pleasure, and deny you nothing – neither my strength, my body, my power, my soul. I could give you all that you so desire, if you’d have me. For you shall be mine, and if given the chance, I could love you more than I actually
"Language..." Steve couldn't help but mumbled. They were all a mess from just seeing this horrific sight. "Alright, Tony, Thor's cleaning up the fire hydrants, I need both of you to redirect the water into the fire!"
“Yes,” Loki said, having trouble finding his words. He could only see a faint glimmer of her eyes beneath that mask, and it was a daunting sight. “Good thing you decided to come.”
He frowned at me and took a step back. He looked puzzled. “I…I’ve… you just used profanity. A lady is not supposed to use profanity.”
The war had not dampened Charleston’s spirit. Nor had it altered its social events calendar. The invitation to Colonel Andrews birthday party arrived shortly after lunch two days after Thomas abandoned Allie at her grandparent‘s home. Then, not soon after, an invitation to the annual May Day Ball arrived.
"nice, now all you have to do is go sit next to her, and start talking to her. you can do this loki, no backing down, no retreat." i thought to myself. I took a big breath of the cool October air, and marched myself to where she was sitting, put on my biggest, goofiest smile, and through all my nervousness, i spat out it out.
“You didn’t look very comfortable over there,” he stated as he put his coat on.
The astringent scent of antiseptic stung the air of the E.R., the strong aroma barely masking the smell of sickness and death. Booker paced the floor of the waiting room, one eye on the clock, his need for a cigarette intensifying with every step. Three hours had passed since the paramedics had cut Tom free from the bathroom pipe and transported him to St. Mary’s. In that time, the young officer had remained unresponsive, his mind locked in the memories of his past, oblivious to what was going on around him. For Booker, however, escaping the horror of the situation was not an option. He’d waited for the detectives to arrive, and like a scene from a movie the director had decelerated for dramatic effect, he’d watched
Call it down. I heard Loki’s voice whisper to me, just as he’d done during the training. Call it down, and make it obey your will, sunshine.
I felt unusually good when I awoke this morning. Lying between Jodi and Lydia, I allowed myself a few extra minutes to revel in the feel of their naked bodies against mine. I reviewed everything we'd accomplished in the last week and then the things remaining on my TTD list--besides finishing my book.
Other than Kelt’s genuine concern for my safety, I’d just messed up his day, and his safe passage record. I carefully presented him with the remainder of the AirPed. “You’ll need this for your report. Log it as a criminal pursuit and I’ll countersign it when it hits my office. The way I see it, you did everything you could to prevent this. You’ve no blame here, and that’s what my report will say.”
The toe-curling shout had echoed through the lab, it ordinarily caused a few of the scientist with white painted coats to jump a little at the sound.
The morning gave way to the afternoon as the storm continued. They hadn’t done much than make-out like a couple of horny kids who discovered the pleasures of French-kissing. Theo was a master in the art and Carly his most willing apprentice. She would have been happy to kiss the day away, but Theo suggested they go dig out the car and survey the area with the brightness of day on their side.
and Charlene was a Priestess. The Library was not just scrolls it was a living powerful force.”
An unseasonable chill cut through the sylvan backdrop. Leaves shivered amidst their rustles. The animals scurried for cover normally reserved for colder times. Clouds built in the northwest and blot out the clear blue backdrop. Grass swayed and bent before the stiff breeze.
“You ever heard of knocking you fool!!” says Sir Nicholas as he leaped from off the ground dusting himself off. By this time Hilda had slid away to go tend to the kitchen duties before Sir Nicholas could finish their conversation.
