The lopsided battle raged for over two hours, the Army and Marines, also cleared the housing area. They captured seventy-five of the enemy combatants to include one make believe General, who told them they had no right to hold him as the United States of America no longer existed as far as he was concerned. Finally, out of exasperation at hearing the man rant and rant, Captain Gaston, who was now in Tomakow headquarters, had him tied and gaged then set into a corner so they didn’t have to listen to him anymore. An hour later Captain Moran made it to the General’s Headquarters, introductions were made, “You know we didn’t need your help?” Captain Moran told Captain Gaston. “We didn’t need the Army to come to our rescue, we had things well …show more content…
The grave was noted and coordinates taken in the event someone was sent back to collect all of the bodies which was unlikely. While the body identification was going on and subsequent burial the Marines repaired the track. Once it was done the train moved slowly over it to make sure it was fine. There have been bad repairs in the past, especially when they were bringing the train across country, every Soldier that had served on the train all knew it was a nightmare to get her back on the track, but it could be done. They got all of the Humvee’s loaded back onto the train to include the Marines. “We can across some pretty sketchy areas on our way here, do you think it wise to put everyone on the train and have no forward scouts?” Captain Moran asked. “I’ve got the Special Op guys in their FAV’s out there. Take my word for it, this isn’t there first rodeo, they will take care of anything out there. They have radios and can notify us of anything they can’t handle, then we charge into the rescue, this baby may be big, but with a full head of steam she can move!” Captain Gaston told him. “Where did you find this monster?” Captain Moran asked. “We didn’t, one Colonel Clayton, now Brigadier General, and his team found it near San Francisco.” Captain Moran was confused, “How did she get here?” “That’s a long story Captain, a quick summary, they brought her across country.” “So, that means the rest of the country is intact?” “No.” Captain Moran
They used documents mainly connected to Duffy to figure out the mass graves. Old maps were and modern technology were used to search the country side along mile 59. They had to find the area they were living in, individual graves and the mass graves. They used older maps and matched them up with Google earth to trace down the graves.
On the night of May 9th 200 Green Mountain Boys assembled under Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold to capture Fort Ticonderoga. However only a small portion of the men could cross the lake to capture the fort as there weren’t enough boats for all the men. Fearful of losing the element of surprise Allen and Arnold decided to attack with their small force. With only one sentry on duty the colonists stormed the fort waking the men at gunpoint and disarming them. The captain was roused from his chambers and surrendered his sword peacefully, with nobody dying during the assault.
He quickly dressed, grabbed his sword, and ran outside ready for action. Then he finally heard what people were shouting about. The British captured his family. He immediately rushed to the general’s tent, burst in it, hollering, “We must save them!” He saw with shock that the general’s pistol was on him. “Oh, it’s you,” said the general setting down his gun. “Now what’s all this about saving who and doing what?” he said. “My wife! And children!” Matthew gasped trying to catch his breath. “Why? What has happened?” the general inquired. “The redcoats have taken my family captive and I need permission to lead a rescue mission,” stated Major Matthew. “Granted!” barked the general, “Matthew! Get them home.” Matthew smiled and sprinted out of the tent calling to his men to prepare for battle and on the double. Five minutes later his men were in a diamond formation awaiting orders. “Innocent people’s lives are at stake,” roared Matthew, ”As a matter of fact my family’s lives are stake and they are being held hostage by the vile lobster-backs. I would ask you to follow me to save them and I would be forever in any man’s debt if he comes and fights for me. Who is with me!” he shouted. Matthew was surprised that not only all of his men cheered, but that 300 more voices around him also bellowed out. Recovering from his shock he said, “ We
Burial for those who passed in both tragic events was very slow due to difficult and even impossible identification of bodies. Some bodies were badly burned and mutilated that they could not be identified through physical features. Many bodies also could not be identified through fingerprints because the men were either missing fingers or their fingers were badly damaged. Another reason identification was slow was because only portions of people's bodies were found and brought
“You bet!” shouted another, just as eager. “And I hope we don’t have no more fightin till a week from Monday!” Henry and the soldiers of the 304th regiment were proud of themselves. After days of waiting, walking and anticipating commands to fight, their first battle had been won. Everyone began to relax, Henry even carved out a spot and dozed off before being told to regroup and move on.
The nurse walked off leaving the two notes sitting on the table. Sergeant Taylor looked at the notes and watched her walk away, he stood there shaking his head, no wonder things were so fucked up he thought. Sergeant Taylor grabbed the notes and he and the other Marine headed back out the door. They exited the clinic, Sergeant Taylor not know what to do next, Corporal Moore asked what had happened, Sergeant Taylor told them the clinic’s CO wasn’t there and there was no one there that was going to help. Corporal Moore followed on, “You mean Commander Hall we passed him as we came in he was walking down the
The two forces headed into Norfolk, right through town, one heading north and the other east; it was quite a sight for the civilians that had seen so much. Never in their wildest dreams did they expect to see thousands of Marines heading off to battle in their own country. The Marines sang cadence as they marched through town and the suburbs. People lined the streets to see the spectacle because never had they been more proud; it sent shivers up their spines. The force heading north would encounter town after town and finally cut through Washington DC itself. Once they entered town they at first would be escorted through by the 3rd Infantry Regiment, then half way through they would be handed off to the 82nd Airborne. Not one Marine thought it was necessary that they needed Army escorts.

“Before I went in, I thought I would be polite…but when I saw them laughing and apparently indifferent to the woe which they had been instrumental in bringing upon us, I could not help being indignant. [But] seeing an enemy wounded and helpless is a different thing from him in health and
If anything had been discovered, then the state medical examiner would have been brought in to evaluate the remains.
Another was one of the children of the deputy sheriff who was patrolling traffic around the site. There was also a military officer who was a friend of the families not involved in that particular operation, but who did share office space there. They all seemed credible with their stories that the bodies found were alien.”
While the supplies were being passed out, several Regular Officers apprehended three men riding on the road that went from Concord and Lexington. At approximately 10 pm these men were held for question by the British troops. The three men were not treated nicely and asked questions such as “having first enquired about the Magazine at Concord, whether any Guards were posted there, and whether the bridges were up” The men were detained until two o’clock in the morning.
Preparing to return to the mainland, the four Marine officers paid their parting respects to the division commander, Major General J.L. Collins and his chief of staff, Colonel William P. Bledsoe. To their surprise General Collins chose to speak to his staff on how the Army was resolved to eliminate forever its deficiencies in amphibious matters and its dependency on Marines for amphibious expertise.
The medic said that most of the bodies were taken to the Mortuary by Police and some relatives may not be aware of them..
