Sometimes projects seem like they aren’t worth the time in money for the reward, but the sense of accomplishment you get when you’re finished is second to none. It was early april of 2017, I was just barely 19 at the time, and I was bored out of my mind. I had finished high school in 2016 and decided to take a year off. I was working part time and that meant that I had a lot of free time on my hands but had nothing to do. I went to my grandparents house one april morning, and went there to find out if they had anything that they needed done for projects or household chores. My grandfather led me out to the yard and there it sat. A 1986 Wheel Horse riding lawn mower. It was an old lawnmower, not one that you see today in the stores made …show more content…
I could get the spark plug to fire and I could get it going on starting fluid but it wouldn’t stay running. I decided to check the fuel system to make sure it was getting fuel, and it wasn’t. I pulled the fuel pump off of the motor. It was an old type of fuel pump that used the camshaft to power it to deliver fuel. I opened it up and found a bunch of gunk in it which was preventing it from functioning properly. I put the fuel pump back on after fixing it. The fuel tank had to be drained so I took the hose off and drained it. I spilled a bunch of it on myself, it went on my pants, shirt, shoes and my arms which resulted in me having an odor of gasoline that would take days to get rid of. I refueled it and decided after over a week of working on It I would take a day off. I returned 2 days later to attempt to finish the project I had started I still had a little odor of gasoline and oil on me. I Went to try to start the motor. I felt the cold metal key in my hands as I slowly turned it to the start position. It slowly turned over. Then suddenly there was a loud pop and it started. It was a rough idle and it had a lot of white smoke coming from the exhaust. The was so much smoke you could subtly taste it, and it wasn’t a very good taste, a bitty taste like dirt or dust. It wasn’t very quiet either, it was

The warm flow of water ran in rivulets down his body, the steam and soothing words reliving the pain that I had witnessed today: Seeing Paledon dead as a rock. The pain still yanked at my heart, making me feel like I was dying. It was the fear caving in me. I sat beside Paledon in my en suite’s spacious shower, gently sponging the dried blood from Paledon’s skin; I had wanted to try and clean myself up since I stunk to high heavens, but after everything Paledon had gone through (I still don’t know what exactly happened) I wouldn’t hear of it. The thoughts swirling in my head as I got back to the Tower were sinister and worrying.

“Don’t take my answer of ‘no’ as a coward’s response, but I’m trying to make it back home to my family. Up until this point, we’ve only been gassed. We’re still in the dark, but nothing is attacking us. I think if we tough it out, we’ll make it out of here alive. But if we go snooping in the dark, there’s no telling what we might find.”
hey said there would be a safe haven to the North, and that is where I am heading too. It’s the year 2153. It’s been 12 years since people caught the disease SOAP. Originally SOAP was supposed to cleanse the people from the ash falling down from the Great Eruption. SOAP mixed with the ash and mutated into something much more. The disease starts in your cerebrum and slowly takes over your body till you have no control. People call those diseased people Nothings.
When you’re the heir to the throne of the throne of a long dead Camelot and one of the last remnants of a dying magical world, it’s almost considered an insult if nothing has tried to kill you before you turn 14.
Both Mark and I both slammed the car doors and walked in opposite directions. One home perched over the glistening sands of Malibu housed a famous rocker who regularly hired my father for album covers.
Glancing around the room at the bookshelves filled with scrolls and leather bound parchment, Alayna only half-listened to her brother’s bothersome voice as her eyes landed on the portrait of their father before peering out the floor-to-ceiling window to look at the garden on the other side. Another sunny day, Alayna noted in distaste, in her opinion the sky should be dark and gloomy, overcast as rain poured from the heavens as to physically represent how she felt.
Angelos stood on the same chair that Eric stood on, and announced, “People, we need to focus. We will attack, soon. We need more action than conversation. Focus people, focus… Please, text your friends and family on the pier and tell them. We will get our supplies together and attack them. Each store should protect itself at this moment.”
