Mike Rose describes his personal childhood observations about his mother and uncle in his essay titled "Blue collar Brilliance". Roseanne Connor is a positive role model for someone in the thirties from the sitcom, “Roseanne”. She is a loud mouthed, outspoken, overweight, and unapologetically working class who made no attempt to be the perfect mom. Even though she did her best. She was raised by an abusive father and a mother who just stood by while this happen. She raises her family with truth and humor. She doesn’t hold back when most people would and she fights every day to put food on the table and make sure the bills are paid. She is from a working-class family that works hard for everything they had and they do not have much. This makes her one of the most realistic sitcom moms.

Five years past, she had given up all the privilege her parents offered, as she hated the college path her parents set, lavish and prestigious as it was. With her parents unwilling to back down, she had left to go find a job waiting tables while paying for a college course that she loved with her meagre earnings. Her life has radically changed from what she had growing up, but at last she can enjoy her independence and freedom. As for family, she now has a friend in another waitress named Roxy, a young man named Axton that just like her had been banished by his wealthy father, and the elderly owner of the café she waits tables at, Ma. While Rose is a likable and fun person, she never takes any nonsense from anyone.

It was a cold, dreary February morning. Frost was on the grass and chills would run down your paws. Peggy the Poodle was awakened by her mother and told her father was deploying in a few hours. Peggy gathered her thoughts, emotions racing, sleepiness her eyes. Peggy howled out loud in anger as she continued to think about her daddy leaving again for another deployment. Just a yard away, Larry the Labrador was receiving the same information. Howls filled the neighborhood. How would these to puppies deal with sadness?

Roseanne uses her television series to show how women really were like in the 1980s. They were pretty much in control of the family and relationship. They rejected all stereotypes of the man being the king of the house. The women had the power and authority to back them up. In another episode titled “D-I-V-O-R-C-E” Roseanne tries to convince her husband Dan to go on a romantic dinner. She goes out of her way to convince Dan to suit up with a tie and go out to dinner with her. In the episode Roseanne is seen being the romantic one and wanting to dance with her husband. She tells him sweet things and makes sarcastic jokes about getting divorced. It is not till the end that we can see Dan take her to dance because that is all she wanted. She wanted to dance with Dan because it has been a long time since they went out. In the episodes Roseanne uses her character traits to help change the representation of women on the television screen. Roseanne uses a lot of sarcastic jokes to explain what she wants. Roseanne helped push for woman’s acting and allowed many women to pitch their own show or be the main character.

A cheer arose from inside the bar, and I put the pistol back in my waistband before returning to the crowd. I made my way through several congratulators, several with conspicuous swastika tattoos on their faces.

On January 28, 2003 I was born. I was born early so I had breathing problems for the first few weeks of my life. When I was two I would stay with my grandparents half the time because my parents were very buys. My dad was never home because he was firefighter and rescue diver. My grandpa would watch me and take me places with him. I would always end up at my aunt's house or going on long scenic drives with them because they were bored. When I was three my parents took me to Ceter Point with family and we walked around just looking at the rides because I was too young to ride any.

The voice in my head, normally so calm and controlled, was screaming at me to run. That was exactly what was going through my five year old mind when I walked around the hallway corner to see my mother being beat to her death by my biological father, Brax Magnus. As I tried so hard to stay and defend my mom, I could not help but panic and so I ran. I ran so far until I seen a small gas station. I went inside to find a phone, but realized I did not know who to call. The cashier, seeing that I was crying and looked panic, walked over to me.

During the summer of 2017 life was perfectly fine, not worrying about stress and being carefree and single. This is why it was carefree and fun first I had a job at McDonald’s which I thought was going to be boring and dreadful but it turned out that I loved it the managers they were nice and I was very good at every job they gave me and then when paycheck day came I was cut 400 dollars which didn’t bother me much at first because the manager said he would fix it I just had to give him all of my hours that I worked. Giving him all of my hours was easy to do so I did that with no problem. After I gave him my hours 2 weeks have passed and I still never got my full paycheck then finally I talked to the managers which apparently they had no clue about it and told me to talk to another manager and then after that my brother took a vacation to Washington state and never came back so I was done at that point I walked out and then a few days later they gave me my paycheck’s and begged me to come back, I considered coming back but after all of that annoyance I wanted to have a good summer so instead I never went back. This didn’t hinder me of the good summer I wanted so from there the summer truly began.
