Miss Johnson walked over to the women and said proudly, “These are students from Louise Spencer high school, a public school in the Central Ward” “But They’re so well behaved,” the women said with surprise. “Isn’t that school in the ghetto?” Miss Johnson gave the women a look that could have melted that mink coat and led her students away. George looked back at the women with hurt and confusion. He wished he could have tripped the smelly old lady. On the way back home from the trip, George, always the quiet kid, sat alone on the bus beat. “Mind if I sit next to you, George?” Someone asked. He looked up, piled his long legs out of the aisle, and smiled at her. “Sure, Miss Johnson”. “Did that women upset you?” She asked George shrugged. “I don’t know. She smiled like Mothballs” …show more content…
He changed the subject. “That was a good concert, Miss Johnson. I think it's really cool that you take us to stuff like this” “Perhaps when you go to college you can learn to write symphonies or plays of your own,” she said” “College? I never even thought about it.” To George, the idea of college seemed like something foreign and vague, like going to China or the Moon. “Of course you’ll go to college. You’re one of the smartest children in my class.” Miss Johnson spoke with certainty. “I have high hopes and great expectations from you, George.” “Maybe you do, but some kids think it ain't cool to be too smart, you know,” George told her. Fifteen minutes later, Anna and Willy stepped back outside into the chilly night air and hopped up into the police car. The long ride was cramped, and the children felt restless. When they finally arrived at Miss Muller's Anna grabbed their bag off the seat and took hold of her brother's hand. Together the two trudged off through the crunchy grass towards a tall tenement. Once they had reached number seventeen and stood on the steps the squeaky screen door twanged open. And Miss Muller a short stout woman with feathery white hair and extremely hard piercing gray eyes stepped out with a frown and warned stiffly, "You two had better straighten up! There will be none of that stuff here." She thanked the office for his time
Franny held many strong beliefs that caused her to view her surroundings pessimistically. After spending three years contently in college, Franny changed her view of the college experience. She decided that college was “one more dopey inane place in the world.'; (Salinger, 146) She failed to see college as a place that allows one to increase his or her
“What if I fail?” I asked desperately. “What if I have to go back to school? I don’t want to go back, I want to be in college, with the other smart people!”
I am completing my second weekly-required meeting and hate this one more than the first. At least the first one was with just my fellow English teachers discussing our summers. This meeting includes the English AND History teachers. Apparently, Bonnie-Leigh High thinks the two subjects are closely related and feels they should have their meetings together to discuss freshmen. I still don’t understand why we are discussing the new freshmen class twice a week for two weeks. I could be putting this made time into Aiden. That is if Aiden had any free time. With September quickly approaching, Aiden has done nothing but write and write. Any conversations we have are small and we haven’t actually seen each other in a week, which is abnormal for us.
Breaking news from Belle Plaine Middle School! A girl on Venus name Margot has been stuck in a closet during the one hour of sun!
“ What? What did she mean? "I'm afraid you'll have to elaborate. I may know a few languages, but ungrateful brat isn't one of them."
“Open your eyes now,” Emily and Jenny said in unison. As he did so, Alex’s eyes adjusted to the light and soon came to see a very attractive blue-eyed blonde girl wearing Middleton High’s school uniform reflected back at him in the mirror. He made an audible gasp. Oh my God! Is that me? His body had a shapely figure with large breasts and hips, long golden blonde hair, and a beautiful face accentuated by subtle makeup. Lip gloss made his lips look wet and fuller and the blush brought more color to his cheeks. Mascara, eyeshadow, and eyeliner accentuated his crystal blue eyes. As Alex continued looking at himself in the mirror, he paid special attention to the uniform he was wearing. It consisted of a white blouse, a dark green sweater vest,
When most people at East Langford Highschool hear Francis Davis name they will make a face and this face will stay inside of your head. Francis had the worst reputation around school. Nobody could say anything to Francis without their feelings getting hurt from her sharp remarks. As Francis walks out the front door of East Langford High School, she has her two sidekicks by her side- Isabelle and Penelope. These girls didn’t have the best reputation neither. The girls walks to Francis home while sharing a cigarette. “ What are yall trying to get into before the day is over,” asked Penelope? Penelope was always the one trying to do something reckless. “Anything, it doesn’t even matter,” agreed Francis and Isabelle. As the girls approached Francis
I feel as if happiness is a joke and no one ever let me in on the punchline. I see others enjoying it and having a grand old time, but I just don’t quite get it. There are times when I think I have figured it out, but it will slip from my grip and I’m left miserable, once again finding that I was wrong about it all along. It’s a vicious cycle of never-ending despair. That’s just my life for you.
Swoosh! goes the car door as I close it. I push the doors open like pearly golden gates as I walk into the building. It seems oddly quiet on this Thursday morning. Usually kids are jumping off the walls like maniacs. Other than that, it seems like a normal day at Harrison Middle School.
The word success means very differently for each and every person. Success can range from just getting up from bed to go make coffee to making money at a job that you like. In the Oxford Dictionary, by definition, success means the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. My story begins when I was in 8th grade at Leyva Middle School. I was in 4th period Algebra 1 alongside many 7th graders and a few 8th graders. In my 7th grade year, I was in the this new program called Bulldog Tech and I had pre-Algebra. In my Algebra class, my teacher, Mr. Nguyen, gave the class a project of creating a presentation of a job that you would like to do in the future. The requirement for the presentation to qualify was to show one way how math is used in your selected job. Mr. Nguyen gave the whole class a week to choose and learn about a job from what you do to the salaries.
“Dear Mr. Silvestre congrats, your son Jerald has been accepted into our humble, Upland High School. We are hosting a welcome ceremony on monday so you can drop off your student an hour early with his things. Also, make sure he is wearing the school’s wristband on campus. They monitor the location of the student for security, since the school is on an island you never know what could happen.”I have so much to do and writing these acceptance letters wasn't something I was enjoying.Setting up the traps for when they get here and prepare for their arrival!I wasn’t lazy, just a major procrastinator. The boss would be mad if I didn’t finish the arrival procedures and I didn’t like the boss being mad.Even thought I was in control I felt like a slave to him despite it all. After I finished setting everything up I ran through everything again.
I looked through the gate to see a blonde, balding man approaching. “The sign is beautiful. I can’t wait to see the rest of the neighborhood,” I called back. “The name’s Jack,” he said, “allow me to open her up.” He reached into his pocket and the thick steel victorian styled bars started to slide back. Once they were open, we stepped through the entrance. “Good to meet you, Jack. My name’s James, and here’s my wife Patricia. Oh, and I shouldn’t forget our boy Willard.” He shook our hands, but all the while, he stared at Willard. There was a mix between a whimper and a growl. “What’s gotten into you, Willard? You usually love strangers,” Patty said while kneeling down and giving him a scratch behind the ears. I clap Jack on the top of his arm to get his attention. “Mind if we take a look around?” He looked up at me as if he were staring off into space when he replied with, “yeah, and I’ll take you two around to the office if you guys feel like settling down here.” “He seems nice,” said Patty, “I can’t wait to meet the rest of

About six months ago Sean was bullied in the locker room at St. Vincent High School. He was in the locker room minding his business when suddenly another teenager comes up and starts hitting Sean in the face knocking him over. Sean could taste the blood in his mouth. After only a few moments the other teenager stopped and ran away. When he got up his head was pounding and he couldn’t feel his bottom lip. He also had cuts all over his face. Thankfully the schools camera caught the whole thing live and the family decided to put the video online so that people could hear his story. Unknowingly something incredible happened. Rener Gracie saw this video and felt touched by it. Rener runs a Jui jitsu company that has gyms all around the country
