“Follow the brick road,” Obiareus looked around to see where the echo was coming from and proceeded along the brick road. Behind him were his three friends, Charlie, Cooper, and Carlos. Out of nowhere, it hit them. The three triplets and Obiareus were so dehydrated they felt like passing out. They continued on the road that slowly faded up the hill, which led to a beautiful, breathtaking garden. The grass was vibrant, the birds were singing to one another, and right in front of their eyes was a crystal clear body of water. This was the water of life. They rushed to the water, filling their hands with it and they gulped it up. Meanwhile, a few of the men submerged their heads into the water. One of the men named Carlos spotted the shiny red berries, he ran to them and ate them before Obiareus …show more content…
He rushed over there starving, and tried a berry. All of a sudden, he saw his friends passed out by the bushes. While Obiareus’ head was spinning, he was trying to get to the water, as it was so clean it made people pure. Before he put his head into it, he saw a man’s reflection in the water. He splashed his face and turned around, but the figure had vanished. He thought to himself, “Am I in a trance?” and he tried to fight off the feeling. Then he realized the water was capable of making the trance vanish and he proceeded to dunk his head into the water. He saw that his friends were passed out, and he splashed water on their faces. As soon as a drop of water hit their faces, one by one they all were released from the trance. Obiareus knew that there wasn’t much time left and was ready to go home. They packed up to go and didn’t say one word to each other while they still were continuing on the brick road. Carlos, not always the brightest out of the bunch, was playing with the globe that had the fortune teller in it. The fortune teller was getting very sick and was on the verge of

Odysseus is the main character in an epic poem called the Odyssey. In the poem Odysseus has had some bad luck getting home, with some of the gods helping him and some hindering him; his journey towards home is a constant struggle. In this poem we see a man being broke and rebuilt, through constant irony his faith was damaged and without the help of Athena he probably would have given up on his journey. Through his hard work and wise spirit he finally does achieve his goal.
Throughout the last few books of the Odyssey, Homer explains to the reader how Odysseus reestablishes his relationships with his family and friends of Ithaka. It’s possible the restoration of his relationship with his son, Telemachus, is the most significant event of all. This reconnection carries out three main purposes. First, it serves to characterize Telemachus' likeness to his father in the virtues of wisdom, humility, patience, and organization. Secondly, it enables Odysseus a chance to coach Telemachus on how to be a powerful ruler like he is. Lastly, Homer uses the reconnection to highlight the importance of a healthy family structure to a society. To be able to understand

First things first: I shouldn’t be alive. I mean I shouldn’t be dead either, but, hmmm, I guess what I mean to to say is that I shouldn't have been born. But enough with that, or I’ll just sound like a whiny kid.
Many think being a hero is having super powers, but on the contrary it's more than that. A hero is one who is distinguished for their courage and bravery, and looked upon for their great deeds. A person running into the insane burning flames of a burning building to save a young kid with very little covering his own skin. Minutes pass by and all you hear is the crackle of the fire burning and a mother’s tears while she is weakening and falling to the ground. All hope is loss. He is dead many would think. All went silent when they saw a figure walking through the alleyway next to that burning building. He was all black covered with ashes and the memories of the family who lived there. He was also holding that little girl. They chanted that he was a hero. Do they know the full story? Is he the hero or was she? Not everyone is the hero that people claim they are. Some take credit for other's work

Mankind is fascinated by mystery, and when is specific to their families, the urge and curiosity to get to the bottom of things will always be present. The basic questions of who am I? And where did I come from? Will always be the driving force behind any individual in the search for the truth. A true hero will go through immeasurable lengths to benefit not him or herself, but the people around them. Heroes are neither selfish nor uncaring. They seek every opportunity they get to help those in need. One must have also gone through the entire hero’s journey to be deemed a hero. He must start off naïve and inept and through his challenges, transform into someone worth calling a hero. Most importantly, a hero is not perfect. He must listen to other’s ideas and utilize them. However, in The Odyssey by Homer, Odysseus disrespects his crew men and the gods’ advice, lets hubris interfere with his men’s lives, and is unfaithful to his wife Penelope.
