Victorino was traded along with cash considerations to the Los Angeles Angels for infielder Josh Rutledge. The transition that he is going through is awesome for a man like him who loves winning, due to the fact he is going from the last-place team in the AL East to the first-place team in the AL West.

During Amadio’s final season of junior in 1954-55, the Rangers sold the Frontenacs to the then powerhouse Montreal Canadiens, thus Leo became property of the talent-rich Habs. As was the case for numerous excellent players in the Montreal organization at that time, Amadio got lost in the shuffle.
The Royals already won game 1, 2, and 4 so that was the 5th game the royals won making them the 2021 World Series Champions. Lopez became the richest man in history. Everybody wanted his autograph, but his hand got tired after 500 people’s shirts he signed, so he decided to sign 500 shirts every other week.
So as the clock counts down on Carlos Beltran’s time in pinstripes (let’s face it, the 2017 Yankees will have no room for another 40-year-old DH), prepare yourself to watch this 17-year veteran play like it’s his last pay-day--because it is. If I were a betting man, I’d say some American League club gives him a one or two-year deal to bash the ball like the Beltran of
Nick Martinez got the win tonight and backed up his impressive start against the Giants with another impressive one today. Nick pitched five innings, allowing just one hit, one earned run, and struck out one while walking three. For the Rangers, they got everything they could’ve hoped for from Nick Martinez. Nick has struggled this year but might have turned the corner as he as put together back-to-back impressive outings. On a hot summer night in Arlington, Texas, balls were flying and it was imperative that he kept the ball down. He held the MLB leaders in HRs at bay and Rangers fans have to be ecstatic. Martinez got to work early and coasted through the first three innings. Then in the fourth inning he ran into trouble. Newly acquired Carlos Gomez hurt the Rangers all series and led off
The Boston Red Sox was founded in 1901. The team was originally named the Boston Americans but later changed to the Boston Red Sox after Boston’s first professional baseball team the Boston Red Stockings, now known as the Atlanta Braves. The Red Sox first played Huntington Avenue Grounds but later moved to Fenway Park in 1912. Fenway Park remains the home of the Sox to this day.
The year was 1919, and baseball was in the air. The Chicago White Sox had the World Series locked up when scandal struck. It would come to be known as the “Black Sox Scandal” when a group of players were paid by gamblers to throw the 1919 World Series, including the great Joe Jackson. It was one of baseball’s darkest hours, and still lives in infamy inside the hearts of baseball fans all across the world, especially in the south-side of Chicago, the home of the White Sox.

Cabrera became the Marlins cleanup batter. Cabrera's postseason play helped propel Florida to a World Series championship over the New York Yankees and also landed him on the cover of ESPN The Magazine during the offseason.
It may not be how Boston visioned it playing out, but the Red Sox are in the World Series. Former Red Sox players were all over ALCS and NLCS playoff rosters in the run-up to the big game. Various front office staff, managers, and players have graced the grass at Fenway. Hello there Theo Epstein, David Roberts, and Terry Francona, I’m talking about you. Meanwhile, former players are all over a number of diamonds. David Ross, Jon Lester, John Lackey, Coco Crisp, and even the oft-forgotten Anthony Rizzo are just a few players whom were under contract with Boston at some point in the last five years (Rizzo was traded to San Diego for Adrian Gonzalez in 2010…and yup you guessed it, he’s on the post season roster too for Los Angeles) How painful? How did this happen?
Growing up poor in the Dominican Republic, struggling through the minor leagues in an unfamiliar country, and ultimately finding success as a late-inning hero for the Boston Red Sox . And helping his team make the greatest comeback in sports history by winning the 2004 World Series. In 2006 he broke the team record with 54 home runs and started the All-Star game for the third straight year in 2007. Along the way he shares his hard-won wisdom, sidesplitting laughs from the clubhouse, thoughts about his famous teammates and opponents, and some remarkably candid opinions.Big Papi is an unforgettable story about a sports hero that will have readers cheering with every page. Giancarlo Stanton got traded to the Yankees over the summer bringing in a lot of hype about the 2 players who hit the most home runs last year on the same team (Stanton and Judge). So far he has a .234 batting avg. and 7 home runs. The avg. isn’t great right now, but that was due to his timing being off at the beginning of the year.
The trade deadline is fast approaching. The New York Yankees, amongst a few other teams in the league, are rumored to be looking to make a major splash at the trade deadline.
In 1978, the Red Sox held a 14-game lead in the American League East over the Yankees on July 18. However, the Yankees subsequently caught fire, eventually winning the division by three games. In the 1986 World Series, Boston took a 5–3 lead in the top of the 10th inning. Red Sox reliever Calvin Schiraldi retired the first two batters, putting the team within one out of winning the World Series. However, the New York Mets scored three runs and winning it when Boston first baseman Bill Buckner allowed a ground ball to roll through his legs. In 2003, the Red Sox were playing the Yankees in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series. Boston held a 5–2 lead in the eighth inning, and Boston opted to stay with starting pitcher Pedro Martínez rather than go to the bullpen. New York rallied against the tired Martínez, scoring three runs on a single and three doubles to tie the game. Then in bottom of the 11th inning, Aaron Boone launched a solo home run to win the game and the pennant for the Yankees. Similar to Boston, Chicago had The Curse of the Billy Goat. The curse was supposedly placed on the Chicago Cubs Major League Baseball franchise in 1945 by Billy Goat Tavern owner William Sianis that lasted from 1945-2016. Between that 1908 triumph, which was the Cubs ' second world championship (they 'd also won the Series in 1907) Before the “curse” Chicago had won national League Pennants in 1910,
Going to a game in Fenway is a smorgasbord of delightful feelings. Even the walk up to the ballpark is some thing to behold. Walking with hundreds of passionate fans, all decked out in their red sox T-shirts, jerseys, and of coarse that iconic navy hat with the red B on it. I feel like I belong there with this organized group of strangers. There is such a since of family as I see people from the “T” car I was on and chatted with. A few hundred yards ahead I could hear a “Lets Go Red Sox” chant as people around me began to join in
Winning a World Series, is no longer as easy as just dipping into the free agent pool. That point was proven when the Yankees let Robinson Cano walk, deciding to sign Jacoby Ellsbury, Brian McCann, and Carlos Beltran in the same off season.
