The summary I will be writing about is the Victor Cruz story. The main claim of the story is basically how Victor Cruz had a bad start as a college kid. Cruz flunked out of UMass and went to a small community college in Bridgton Academy, After a couple of years, Cruz had overcome a couple of obstetrical to get back in the University of Massachusetts , were he became a great college wide receiver, After his senior year of college at UMass, Cruz entered the NFL draft and was signed by the New York Giants as a undrafted Free Agent in the year of 2010. Cruz is know known today as one of the NFL top wide receivers.
In the early years of Mr. Cruz, his father committed suicide in the year of 2007. During that time of his father's passing, he maintained
Few historical figures from the period of colonial Mexico tower as high as Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz. Sor Juana was a criolla woman who lived from 1651 to 1695. She was born as an illegitimate child but was eventually taken in by the Mexican viceroy’s family. A voracious reader as a child, Sor Juana tirelessly pursued an educating herself. As a young woman, she chose to enter into the cloister so that she could avoid marriage and thus devote herself to her scholarship. She became a prominent writer and her works were widely read in both New Spain and Spain. However, in 1990 she published one of her most famous works: “Reply to Sor Philothea”. This critique of a sermon written by a prominent member of the Church proclaimed the ability of women to participate in intellectual pursuits. Facing intensifying pressure from the Church, Sor Juana publically renounced her work before her death in 1965. Sor Juana’s story was shaped by the societal rules governing gender, race, and class during Mexico’s colonial period and, despite the effort of many to consign her voice to oblivion, she holds tremendous influence upon modern Mexican culture and feminist thought.

My project is on Julio jones an amazing and impressive football player. He was an impressive and stunning athlete. His athletic abilities got him into the University of Alabama and eventually into the Nfl where he currently has 6 seasons of experience and made the Superbowl this year with his team the Atlanta Falcons.
Benidalys Rivera is one of seven women to give birth while in the Western Massachusetts Regional Women’s Correctional Center in 2013. In 2013, Benidalys was convicted to serve two and a half years in Chicopee jail for trafficking cocaine. She started to have contractions in her cell, late in the evening. One of the male correctional officers immediately put shackles on her hands, and he left the shackles on her in the hospital labor room. He told Benidalys that he would take the off the shackles on her ankles when she reaches active labor. However, she never entered active labor and the shackles never were taken off. The doctors had to perform a caesarean section (Berg). Benidalys walked around the hospital “she felt embarrassed as nurses and other patients looked on” (Berg) while having only her assigned nurse for comfort. Benidalys took care of her infant for only two days before they had to separate. The infant, named E.J. taken with the biological father’s family, and Benidalys taken back to the institution. Growing up for two and a half years without visiting his mother because the father’s family lived far away from the prison (Berg). The novel begins with preseason football in the heat of a Texas summer. The players and coaches practice over 4 hours a day in 100-degree weather. The media is affecting every player pushing for a state championship and college scouts at every practice. The boys who gave completely of themselves for their sport are unique personalities. From dedicated quarterback Mike Winchell to Harvard-bound Brian Chavez to the inscrutable Ivory Christian, the team was full of young men who were singular human beings, each one bringing something special and indefinable to their group. And that's just scratching the very surface. The book recounts the tragic story of Boobie Miles, team’s star running back who had been highly recruited by all of the major programs. He is expected to attend and earn a scholarship to a large state college. The community
The short story “It’s That It Hurts” by Tomás Rivera is about a young Mexican boy who moves north from Texas to go to school and is bullied due to his race. He gets expelled for fighting back against his tormentors, which is especially disappointing because going to school was his only chance to move up in life and escape his surroundings. His parents are field workers, and always wanted him to become a telephone operator. His family was very proud of him for overcoming his humble beginnings. The “It” in the title “It’s That It Hurts” is the shame he feels because he let down his parents by getting expelled, causing him to miss his only chance to improve his life.

The whole reason I’m writing this essay is because Demaryius Thomas is an inspiration to me. He inspires me to work hard and do my best. If you watch his games he puts all of his effort into the game. Whether he is winning or losing. But i know he loves winning. One time before the first game of a new season he said “We know it’s a new year. Everybody 0-0. The main thing is you win or you go home”. Demaryius inspires me to play football because he is just really good at it and I love watching him play.
Sor Juana Ines De La Cruz: “Reply To Sor Filotea De La Cruz” Reflection paper
For Brian Chavez, football does not play as large as a role in his life as it does for the other players. Chavez is very smart and works hard at school, therefore he plans to have a career from his education, not from football. Boobie Miles is relying on football as a career and does not perform in school, therefore football plays a very large role in his life as he is relying on football to make money as a career. The people of Odessa are similar to Boobie as they only care about football, not education. Football does not play a similar role in my community. Chavez will be much more prepared for life after football as he has a good education to fall back on, whereas Boobie has made his life revolve

Carlos Fuentes author of The Death of Artemio Cruz has used his novel to show how Mexico has been transformed and molded into its present state through the use of his character Artemio Cruz. Fuentes uses Cruz to bring together a historical truth about the greedy capital seekers, robber barons, if you will, who after the revolution brought Mexico directly back to into the situation it was in before and during the Revolution. Fuentes wrote the novel in nineteen sixty-two, shortly after the Cuban Revolution. Fuentes is able to express his disappointment from the Mexican Revolution, the revolution by the people in his native land. The revolution seemed to change nothing for the average person in Mexico; the

Pablo Escobar had a great impact on drug trade to the U.S. in the 1980s. How he got into cocaine, how he smuggled, it shows and how he was brought down.
I’ve never been much of a writer, don’t get me wrong I don’t hate writing; I have just never excelled at it. Originally when were given this assignment I thought it would be simple, I already had an idea of what I wanted to write about, but like always I knew I would struggle with finding the right words to use in order to actually write the story. Although I knew what I wanted to write about I still wasn’t completely sure if I wanted to write about this topic, not only because of the challenges it would present but because It was going to be a story about a real friend of mine. The story was going to be about the life of an illegal immigrant who like many others had the dream of becoming a professional football player.
