The videos, the constant reminder of Jamie everywhere in the house was pushing her to the breaking point. She couldn’t do it anymore. “ARE YOU EVER GOING TO STOP? HUH? NATHAN ROYAL SCOTT, ANSWER ME.” Haley’s voice raised another octiv as grabbed the remote from the table and went to pause the video, raising her hand she stopped feeling Nathan’s grip on her wrist firmly stopping her. Looking at him she felt this longing for him to say something, for him to remind her why they got married in the first place, but all she got was this new version of him. “Get out of my way, and give me the fucking remote.” this wasn’t the first time since Jamie’s death that Nathan had spoken to her like this, but then this wasn’t the first time that Haley had …show more content…
Haley rolled her eyes wiping the tears from her eyes, what she was about to say was what would really break her. “Go to hell, I hate you, do you get that? I hate you, I don’t love you anymore.” Haley turned away from him, as she walked back to her bags she finally grabbed them. Turning back once more she still couldn’t believe that it was over, that the man she loved more than anything wasn’t there anymore, but then she wasn’t the same person that she had been before. “Yeah, you keep talking, but all I hear is, whine, whine, whine, bitch, bitch, bitch...I don’t care if you don’t love me anymore, because I HAVE NOTHING!” Nathan spoke standing up he held the bourbon bottle in his hand before throwing it against the wall closest to where the tv was at. “Do you get that, Haley? I USED TO BE NATHAN SCOTT, I WAS GREAT, I HAD A SON THAT ADMIRED ME, I HAD A WIFE THAT LOVED ME, AND NOW? I HAVE NOTHING, I AM NOTHING. So, you want a divorce, then so be it.” Nathan pulled a pen out of his pants pockets, leaning down he flipped open the pages as he signed and initialed every part of the papers, before throwing the pen down. “So, there it is. I’ll let you go, not like you want me anymore anyways. LEAVE. Go! I’ll send the papers in tomorrow.” Nathan walked away from her, not even saying a word. Leaving the house that night, Haley went straight to the airport, she didn’t say goodbye to anymore, not
She asked me about names and I told her to not jump the gun on this. I do not want a baby with him, but that is certinally not to have an abortion. It’s inhumanly to have an abortion just because I hated the father. “What are you going to do?” She handed me a bottled water, I sighed and looked at my cheerios. “I really don't know, I’m definelty going to tell Tate, and maybe he wont kick me out of his house. If he does then it looks like i have to go back home, I really don't want to go back though. I don't want to show up pregnant and bury a burden on michael’s shoulders.” I whisper, Jamie shook her head. “I’m not telling you what to do, you already know the answer somewhere in your heart.” She smiles, I rolled my eyes. “Thanks, that helped a lot!” I was being sarcastic and she knew
“We got married at such a young age, I wasn’t able to live my life to the fullest.” “Once you started being away a lot more, I was able to find myself.” Leroy looks away, a little sad about what Norma Jean has been telling him. But he already never what was coming for me, he just didn’t want to believe his dream. He was hoping Norman Jean wasn’t feeling questionable about their marriage. Leroy looks back up at Norman Jean as she sits there with her head looking down at the table. “Please, just let me try to make up all this lost time.” Leroy pleads. Norma Jean looks up and says “I still love you Leroy, and I will give you a chance to change my feelings about our marriage.” Leroy smiles. He couldn’t believe Norma Jean is giving him this chance. He tells himself “It’s true you should never take anything for
Nick, Kathy’s ex-husband unusually left her one day when he decided that he could not handle their life together anymore. Kathy, who still thinks about why Nick left her often wonders how life would be different if they were not separated. After getting evicted out of her humble abode, Kathy ponders, “My husband got to miss all this, that’s what I kept thinking that he didn’t have to be around for any of this, and I was stuck at the El Rancho motel in San Bruno” (Dubus, 34). These thoughts evidently display that Kathy has still not moven away from her past, as the first person she thinks about right after being evicted is her ex-husband. Nonetheless, when she meets Lester Burdon, she instantly feels an attraction towards him and feels that life has finally changed.
The alarm clock blares on the tattered brown nightstand next to the bed. It is the only part of Casey Barclay’s day that is predictable. She opens her eyes and groans at the thought of what the day will hold. She hears her twins, Alexander and Abigail in the next room. They are eight, and already fighting over whose turn it is to hold the IPad, even though it’s only 6 a.m. She reaches over and turns the alarm clock off, her diamond engagement ring catches her eye as it does a little dance, sparkling in the sunlight. It is the most expensive thing in all of her house. It is also only the second thing that has given her hope in the nine years since the factory left, and it’s hard to have that after her last marriage failed so miserably. She
“This is personal to you. I know what it’s like to lose someone, and believe me, I’ve been where you are right now. Maybe your emotional state will prevent you from focusing on this case,” Aidan added and smiled. His eyes seemed warm and caring now. Megan noticed how the pitch black color of Aidan’s eyes seemed both mysterious and hypnotic at the same time. “Hey, you came from Connecticut and asked for me. This means that you want me to work on this case because you know what I’m capable of,” said Megan. She was frustrated. She felt much more furious than she sounded. She thought that Aidan should thank her therapist who taught her how to keep her anger under control, and smiled a little.
“I’ll have 6 eggs, a big glass of orange juice, a banana, and some oatmeal please” said DeSean “ You’re one crazy kid” said the female bartender at IHop. “Yes ma’am, I might be crazy ,but ready for football this morning” DeSean responded swiftly. The bartender responded almost immediately saying “Damn right, hope you do well this morning, I’ll have that food out real quick honey”. DeSean waited for less than 5 minutes before chowing down on over 1000 calories. He exchanged some words with the bartender and he was off to football.
Seven hours later, Keri was still sitting at her office, sobs were racking out of her uncontrollably. She knew Alex was long gone with Ethan and she just lost everything. She now regretted everything and wondered “Is it too late now?” Was it really too late now to do something. Yes, yes it was, she couldn’t do anything to correct her mistake of marrying a dominant, abusive man. She was sick of
"Uh, yeah! Sorry, for just showing up unannounced like this. I thought Jace would've been here..." Bailey stopped herself as she looked at the tiny brunette who lived there. It had been an awful couple of days for Bailey and all she wanted was to escape it. Escape the fact that she had just walked out on the man she had just spent the last three years of her life with. After everything that had happened between them she couldn't handle it anymore. "Oh, no you don't have too..." Bailey started to speak as she watched the young brunette leave the room to go and change. Moments later returning with pillows and blankets for her. Looking down at the beer in her hand Bailey sighed before looking back up at the brunette. "Thanks, I could of gotten them myself. I appreciate it." she spoke as she jumped up on the counter in the kitchen.
I couldn’t wait to get to the house because I was starving. We finally arrived at the house. I met everyone, and Tra and I ate. Shortly after eating we had a meeting to discuss what had happened in court with York that day. One of the sisters known by the name of Rope holder had just came from court and was discussing what went down in the courtroom. I stayed in GA for two weeks. After the two weeks was up, I had seen enough to let me know I didn’t want to move in with this family because they were wanting me to. I had decided I didn’t want to be with Anwar. I didn’t want to move in, because I was used to having my own and being the queen of my queendom. I knew if I were to move in, I’d be giving this position up. I didn’t want to be with Anwar because he didn’t seem like he had his own mind, he didn’t seem like a leader plus he had loose eyes. I remembered thinking “I can’t be with a brother that can’t control staring at other women.” The day I was leaving to head back home to NC, the brother who was the man of the house wanted me to give him a time frame of when I'd be back. I gave him one although I knew I wasn’t coming back. Anwar didn’t want me to leave. I told him I’d be back soon to make the departure easier. I waited until I got home to let Anwar know I didn’t think things would work out between
“I fell,” Madge answers through gritted teeth, clutching her calf tightly as she blinks out tears from her eyes as quickly as she can. It was just her luck that she’d fall off the wall like a complete idiot right after being told to quit. Maybe the odds really weren’t in her favor.
Does anything in our reality truly exist? That is a question I find myself pondering on. It seems if you go to questioning things too much, you find loose ends that can't be tied up. I know what you're thinking, "Just stop questioning stuff." My line of work is all about questioning, I'm a detective. I question everything so that the loose ends can be tied up. Although you always have those mysteries that seem uncrackable. Like the case I'm investigating now.
He arrived at his house. He had been so distracted he hadn't even remembered driving there. He opened the front door to find his wife sitting in the living room. She had been waiting for him. She looking up at him she was still mad but her face slowly soften once she realized something was wrong. They both said nothing until mark sat down and spoke.
Zimmerman’s house is the first place where Nathan and Sophie are first introduced, and also, the first place where the dysfunctionality of their relationship is seen. The ideal of the late 1940s and the early 1950s was to get married and have children, essentially starting one’s life straight after high school. The roles delegated to husbands and wives were the generic stereotypes. Husbands were to be the providers of the family; they were expected to work and provide financially support. Wives on the other hand, had the role of the homemaker, with the duties of taking care of the children along with house chores like cooking and cleaning. Marriage was a highly idealized institution, with a divorce rate of only 23%, due to the idea that divorce was “deviant behavior and a public acknowledgement of failure.” (Gotay) Sophie’s and Nathan’s relationship strays from these standards. Nathan and Sophie are well beyond the “normal” point for marriage by the standard of the 1950s, both being roughly at the age of thirty. Not only are they not married, their relationship is dysfunctional at best, with Nathan being an abuser physically, and emotionally. From a physical standpoint, Nathan often takes out much of his frustration using violence. “[Sophie’s] all right. [Nathan] beat her up again, but she’s all right. He said he was goin’ to kill her.” (Styron 437).This is especially evident while Nathan is abusing substances, and, coupled with the symptoms of his mental illness, he
The sun begins to set on an average Monday in downtown Prescott. The earth produces a clean, floral scent. Flowers bursting with joy for the precious gift of hydration. Bystanders bent over in approval at the content, stratified flowers. The clouds paint the sky like petite sponges drifting in the light breeze. Cicadas hum obnoxiously in the distance. Random tourists head quickly turned as sirens roll past the church in an extremely urgent fashion. A massive dull, white tent supplies an abundance of cool shade cover for what is going to be a gathering. Men, women, and children flood under the canopy for relief and peace. Before finding their seats they make their way to the dessert and coffee table. An assortment of treats
This night was the most terrible. Everyone was out like a light bulb. There they were, Shaniqua was not even backing a thing. She was the one out like a cheetah seeing it 's food. “Finally” Shay Shay said. She was all happy that they were out, “I was the only one paying the bills, buying foods, blankets, pillows, everything you could possibly think of that you needed something in a home for people to stay alive.
