“Will they take action?” “Regina says at least two members of the Wizengamot that she’s aware of have taken the next logical leap from Draco’s research and suggested arranged pairings of young wizards and witches, to increase the odds of producing magical children.” Lucius frowned. It was one thing to suggest intermarriage and diluting their sacred bloodlines with halfbloods or muggleborns but another entirely to require it. “Who suggested it?” “Griselda Marchbanks, although Tiberius Ogdon apparently expressed support for it, declaring it preferable to intermarrying with muggles.” “How seriously are the others taking that?” “It was met with less ridicule than one would have expected just a year ago.” “This is indeed interesting …show more content…
His sister-in-law’s mind was already twisted when she was sentenced to Azkaban, and the 12 years she spent there had done her no favors. However, she was still a Black, still Narcissa’s own sister, and a blood traitor gloating about Bellatrix’s death would always send his wife into a quiet rage. He welcomed her fury, for it gave her a reason to hate the Weasleys just as he did. “Instead she’s as useless as a muggle,” Narcissa continued. “He apparently threw a fit at St. Mungo’s and demanded the core test be repeated and then tried to blame Pythian for the poor results. Security threw him from the hospital. He made quite the spectacle of himself, even by Weasley standards.” “So the Weasleys aren’t as perfect in this brave new world as they like to think they are then,” Lucius smirked. “Hardly.” “Have they any other grandchildren who’ve been tested?” “The eldest is married to that part-veela from France, and rumor has it their two children are magical. Potter married the only girl, Ginevra, and apparently their infant son tested positive for a developed magical core.” “The Prewitts produced a couple of squibs in prior generations,” he pointed out. “Yes, they did.” “You know, the talk around the ladies’ teas is that the youngest, Ronald, will marry Miss Granger,” she confessed. Lucius looked affronted at this news. “Of course, they don’t know that she’s with child and that the babe is likely Draco’s,” Narcissa’s voice trailed off, a hint of smirk on
In addition to all of this, Karleson has established statistically, that women who were married but had no children, women who were married but had only daughters, and finally women who were daughters of parents who had no male offspring were more vulnerable to cause of witchcraft. (Page 101) What this shows is the clear linkage of economic interest and the importance of
“Or so I have heard,” chimed Margaret, “But besides, what else is there to know about that, considering that it is not a dark secret?”
“I think I would be less confused, actually. I thought for a moment Evelyn had a daughter she didn’t tell me about,” exhaled Ned.
Julie laughed. “Why Scratch has assigned bodyguards is beyond me. This is a disciplined outfit, isn’t it?”
“That’s a secret for now, Mr. Anderson,” she happily explained, putting a slender finger over her mouth. “You’ll find out in the near future.” She followed up her
''Not we, Cisco. Me. I need to do this alone'' Instantly answered back the speedster, without hesitation. His answer wasn’t harsh, but it was firm and definitive.
The series chronicles the lives of three adolescent wizards and witches as they experience both normal teenage dilemmas and ones of the magical kind. As the two male characters are technically considered wizards, the focus of the analysis will be on the female protagonist: Hermione Granger. Hermione is what one would consider the perfect role-model: she’s courageous, kind, quick-witted, erudite, and most of all, she is
“Every-so-often, in order to keep our numbers up,” she started with an explanatory finger, “Witches are selected by the Queen to engage in an intensive ritual called Rite of the Widowed One; by means of sacrificial concubines we fill ourselves with our Occultid offspring…”
“Erica, I know a part of you can understand me,” Moxxie said. “We have a place for you. A place you can exist without the worry of any harm coming to you. You simply need to put the child down and come with us.”
He sat straight, hold his stare at the wall in front of him. It was a miracle. In the back of his mind, he kept replaying the fire message from Healer Rordain, Mr. Black. Please understand that the boy is in a sensitive state at the moment. It'll be a minimum of a month of his core recharging. And after THAT is when we might consider releasing him. Mr. Potter has a severe case of dry skin. Flaking, peeling, burns on the tops his feet and the tips of his ears-.
A geocacher had spent a whole day playing find the next closest cache. By evening, he wasn’t even sure where he was, at least 50 miles from home. He had parked at a forest preserve ended up on a fairly deserted trail with just a couple caches he had found without incident. At this point according to his smartphone, there was only one cache left in the whole area, but it was just across from an overpass his trail was leading to. As he approached one end, there was a sign with the warning, DO NOT CROSS. He looked around. He hadn’t seen another person or car for some time. The overpass looked fairly normal, a wooden pedestrian walkway over tall trees flanking a fairly wide stream. No other way dry way to cross that he could see. He
"Everyone knows they’re real, Luna. She was just angry at the moment, causing her to say nonsense." Brenna replied.
“Well im sorry to hear that baby” she said with a frown, “I really thought she was the
His frantic pacing had slowed, but hadn’t completely came to a stop yet. It was nice knowing that just by being in the same room with him he’d stop pacing like he had been. That just by staring at him, his frantic hair pulling and tussling would cease and it would just be her and the man she loved. Even if it was for just a split second, just a glimpse of the man she knew and loved, it was him and she enjoyed every second of it.
“So what you’re telling me is I have...every power?” Phoenix asked again, still sitting there in shock as the ice continued to melt around him.
