The story represents Rosaura as an educated daughter, a part of the "aristocracy" who was described to possess the ability to read in a country where the illiteracy rate was very high. It can be assumed through Puerto Rican history and through the narrative description in the story, that unless you were of the wealthy class, education was not an option: "...she was forced to leave school because of his poor business deals" (p.9). The literacy rate was very poor in Puerto Rico which was a farming country. The characters that were literate in the Poisoned Story also represent the idea of who usually writes history, which is the literate, or the rich.
She avoids communication, which gives Jacinda little bravery. As a teenager she needs her mother to lead her through these stages in life. In Jacindas case, the connection is lost. The communication between mother and daughter should be close but in Renata’s case this relationship is far apart.
Serious events can cause change in a person's life. S.E. Hinton's novel The Outsiders tells a story about a teenage boy, Ponyboy, that lives with his brothers, Darry and Sodapop. Pony and his gang are all poor Greasers so they are constantly mugged by the privileged Socs. Since the Socs and Greasers do not get along and are constantly fighting each other, the kids are almost always injured. In The Outsiders, Ponyboy learns a lot of important lessons because of the events that take place. Pony learns that all Socs are not mean, that Darry does love him, and that there is lots of good in the world. He learns many different things that help his life; however, the most valuable lesson is that all Socs are not rude.
Rosaura's reaction at the end of the party clearly proves us that she all the time thinks that she is invited because she is friends with Luciana. She is sad to realize that she is, in fact, different from the others, that her mother is right all along and that there is a social distinction between the rich and the poor. It is now that Rosaura knows that she is a maid like her mother. She sees that Senora Ines uses her not because she is special but simply because she
The Bastards of the Party documentary was based upon the Crips and the Bloods who are the bastard offspring of the political parties such as the 1960’s. The Great Migration occurred upon African-American migrating from the south in order to escape racism and prejudice in the south as well as to seek industrial jobs. There was a train that would stop through every town but blacks could only depart at Central Avenue. Over time, many have realized that people have the power to change others, however some believe that people cannot and will not change. One side of this argument is that though people will be the same their whole life, and never change. On the contrary, people have been changed by others over time and throughout history. It is a fact of life that people have the power to change others through their actions, perspectives, and ability to persuade their point of view.
Innocence is a precious gift that we all have at some point. In Liliana Heker’s ‘The Stolen Party’, Rosaura experiences a loss of innocence after attending her friend Luciana’s birthday party. Before the party, Rosaura is unaware of her social standing and she believes has been invited as a friend. Her innocent attitude is amplified while at the party when she demonstrates a sense of superiority towards the other guests. By the end of the party, however, her innocence is shattered when she realizes the differences that exist as a result of her social class. As a result of her experience at the party Rosaura changes from a naive girl and learns that she cannot cross the line from lower

Social class describes the different "layers" that exist in society. These "layers," or classes in society, are a division that civilization has been running on ever since the beginning of mankind. In most modern societies, our system of social class division is one of opportunity. We experience a good deal of social mobility, where people through generations or in their own lifetime can move up or down the social scale. By examining the many different perceptions of social class along with S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders, it is illustrated that social class has an impact on people while they are growing up, and will usually deny them from rising above adversity.
Social classes exists since the years. Some people born rich and their generation stays rich all the time, while other born poor and all their stays poor all the times. However, there are other people who move from one class to another. Sometimes this mutation depends on the individual effort. In the Diamond Necklace, Guy de Maupassant describe the life of Mathilde who born poor and was not happy with her situation. Since she was unable to switch her social class, she tried for all occasion to appear as rich women. In this short story, Maupassant shows in different ways why Mathilde should recognize and accept her social class and live in the level of her class. Maupassant thinks Mathilde should accept her social class because her honor does not depend to her social class. Also, she should accept her class because happiness does not depend on the materials things. Finally Mathilde should accept her social class to avoid the deterioration of her life.
Some people experience specific conflicts throughout their lives that can affect the way they view themselves and others. An example of this is in the short story The Necklace by Guy de Maupassant, where Madame Loisel is constantly suffering the mental battle of wanting everything she does not have. Jewels, necklaces, and riches - all the materialistic things that Madame Loisel sought after her whole life, cause her to display an ungrateful attitude towards herself and her husband. Once she finally receives something that she wanted, a beautiful necklace borrowed from a friend, she loses it and in order to replace it, she becomes forced to borrow more money from friends. Consequently, she had to spend many years of her life to pay back every person she borrowed money from, when in result, the necklace was a replica and was much cheaper than what she had thought. Madame Loisel undergoes a series of external and internal conflicts, causing the idea that it is important to remain truthful and appreciative to be discerned.
