Suddenly Bergess screamed in excruciating pain and as Kohen turned to look he found himself screaming as well strapped to his chair. The pain, while only lasting seconds, was worse than anything ever experienced. It was totally unforeseen but would never be forgotten. The instant the pain subsided Kohen unbuckled himself and rushed to Bergess’ side to see if she was all right. She had tears running down her face, as did he, but it seemed there was no lasting effects. As he reached her, he looked her straight in the eyes and said,
“Well, let’s not do that part again”.
She smiled, and Kohen wiped a tear that rolled down her face.
They embraced and he said, “We’re here honey. What say we take a peek?”
“Love to.” she

As the suns’ rays filtered through the plasma all the colors of the rainbow were visible and they seemed to dance upon the sunbeams like a leaf on the wind.
The effect was alluring, but Kohen figured he should do a Post Emergence check and scan the area for any other rainbow asteroids and stay a marginal distance away. The check revealed nothing new about the condition of the ship. Ange and Hershel had shut down the accelerators and put them in standby mode. The fusion reactor was still working perfectly but in half-life mode for the need of max power was gone because the accelerators were in stand-by. They would have to fix the cavity resonator sometime but that was low on the list right now. All in all, the voyage was a success except for the unpleasantness at the end, which would require more study and thought later. Now for the in depth system scan.
“I can’t believe we are actually here”, murmured Bergess as she gazed out at the wonders she was experiencing.
On one of the nearest planets two young lovers were staring off into the cosmos and enjoying the embrace and warmth of each other. The two youngsters, Berta and Gonk, being only 16 earth years of age, had just finished some celebrations and were resting after the festivities. They had gone to a grassy knoll in the back- country to bring in the start of their “after years” and the passing of their “younger years”, which was the custom of their
Perspective. Something that shapes and molds people's worlds based on where they are born, grow and age fixes their view of the place where we live. I heard a knock at the door. It was my best friend Greta! I was excited to see her, but something wasn't right. She looked absolutely terrified. I had wondered what had happened ,but before I could ask she said,"Heidi, I went home after dinner--my family Heidi!” She was crying hysterically. I replied, “I’ll tell you tomorrow.” She said,”It can’t wait till tomorrow!” She had finally told me what had happened her family was taken. I din’t know what to think. I told her that I might be able to help, however I don’t really know. I went to my bed. I couldn’t sleep almost whole night. Greta’s words thundered in my mind. I wanted to help her, but I din’t want to hurt my family. I knew that if I helped her that my family could get hurt. We could all get hurt.
She shouted “What's going on” before lightly landing on a patch of bright green grass.
Daisy motioned for me to sit down and she sat opposite. “When we moved here and heard the stories I was intrigued, but it wasn’t until two years ago and we were pulling down the back fence that I figured it out.”
“What the hell were you thinking Genevieve?!” Sophia looked up the moment that she heard her father’s loud and angry voice. She was shocked for a moment. Not that he was angry with her and yelling. But because she wasn’t sure what she did this time to cause him to come angry enough to find her and start yelling. She knew that she wasn’t loved by anyone in this family. She was a horrible mistake. A mistake that came out of a drunk one night stand that meant nothing. “I don’t know what you’re talking about Sir,” She mumbled the last word. Knowing if she didn’t show complete respect she’d be slapped if not worse. She looked slightly to the right and saw her step-mother and one of her older half-siblings. At first she didn’t think anything of it. Aurora was being comforted by her mother as she sobbed. It wasn’t strange. Her siblings, especially her older sisters, loved getting her into trouble for things that she hadn’t done. “What the fuck is wrong with you?!” He screamed as he shoved a magazine at her face, so close that she couldn’t make anything out. Sophia wanted to come up with a sarcastic reply. Or even call him out for being a jerk or a horrible father. Except she could remember exactly what that would result in. And Sophia really didn’t want to deal with the bruises.
“Say cheese girls!” her mother sang as they squeezed in close before the flash solidified the moment for eternity.
Jerry came home from work later than usual that Friday night. He didn’t say hello when he found me in our bedroom, but thrust the glittery pink bag at my chest and waited with half of a grin.

I come in the front door, into the kitchen and I see my beautiful, glowing fiancée making supper.
“Not it” we all get to our right knee and put our finger on our nose trying not to be last. I didn’t want to be it but I didn’t want to get dirt all over my knee, It was worth it though. We all immediately point to Tessa because she was obviously last (like always). She is also the fastest one and we can never outrun her.
Resisting no temptation not to I gushed onto the floor, “You never let me have anything!”
Walking home from school on her last day of school for the year, Avalon thought about all the people she had told she’d hang out with over the summer, but in reality, she’d see them once school started back up and lie to their faces, claiming she was sick or too busy with other activities to hang out; it happened every year, but this year she didn’t feel bad about knowing she wouldn’t hang out with anybody from school. As she made her way past the golf course, she subconsciously picked up her pace, thinking back to the day she almost drowned, and how today was the last day she’d be wasting in the search to find her mother. Her bags were all packed, and her mom had agreed to let her go to “Dr. Dinglers Summer Camp”. She would be dropped off at the hospital tomorrow morning and then her mom would sign some papers and leave, allowing Emily and Takoda to pick her up and take her to Atlantis.
Small flames erupted into a brilliant blaze, oxygen fueling the size as gasoline continues to burn. Standing in the shadows, with nothing more than a psychotic grin giving away his location, his dark eyes watched as the flames began to consume everything in its path. Low laughter rumbled in his chest before it spilled out into the night, twisting into the crackling sound as sparks flew into the air. It was as if the sparks danced with the smoke that billowed higher and higher. It was a mesmerizing sight, leaving a feeling of the purest satisfaction to wash over him and consume him like the night consumed the world.
