Have you ever been lied to? Vera lied to Mr. Nuttle about here uncle and cousins died in the woods. Vera lied to Mr. Nuttle because she thought it would be funny to prank someone that had a little bit of issues. Whenever her aunt came downstairs Vera said, “The reason why the window is open is because my aunt thinks that the boys are going to come back.” {Vera} She also said that Ronnie{her youngest brother} used to sing “Bertie, why do you bound? That is how he used to tease her because it got on her nerves. She was a liar and was very good at covering her lies. Mr. Nuttel had a few mental issues like he was not supposed to be excited or scared or he would freak out. The aunt walked into the room and she introduced herself to Mr. Nuttel
Lying has deadly effects on both the individual who lies and those around them. This concept is demonstrated in The Great Gatsby. Although Gatsby, Tom and Myrtle have different motives for being deceitful, they all lie in order to fulfill their desires and personal needs. Myrtle’s desire to be wealthy is illustrated when she first meets Tom, dressed in his expensive clothing, as her attitude changes when she puts on the luxurious dress and when she encourages Tom to buy her a dog. Tom’s deception is clear when he hides his affair with Myrtle by placing Myrtle in a different train, withholding the truth from Mr. Wilson of the affair and convincing Myrtle and Catherine that he will one day marry Myrtle. Gatsby tries to convince himself and
While in court one day, she sews a poppet for Elizabeth and leaves her needle in there. Abigail sees this and later at dinner, she stabs herself with a needle and accuses Elizabeth of doing so. This results into the police going to the Proctor household and questioning Mary about the doll. “Why, I meant no harm by it, sir.” Mary admits that the doll is hers, and tells Cheever that the cries of witchery are all pretense. This all leads to John convincing her to tell the truth. Mary tries to take responsibility, to help, but nobody believed her. Even though she did take responsibility for her actions, Mary had to lie in the end to save herself.
Abigail lied about many things; she lied to her uncle about what the girls were actually doing in the woods, how she ended up with a needle in her stomach, that Mary Warren had sent her spirit out to get her in the court… There seems to be lie after lie spilling from her mouth and with each comes a consequence. When she lied to Rev. Parris about what the girls were really doing in the woods which, yes, was dancing at one point but she herself was practicing witchcraft- drinking a potion to kill off Elizabeth Proctor- Tituba ended up being accused and beaten until she confessed to false charges- which also led into another string of accusations. She claimed that Goody Proctor’s spectra stabbed her in the belly with a needle, when we all know she was just framing Mrs. Proctor; and she also lied
McCarthy and Abby both lied to protect themselves. Abby Williams lied at first about Betty and what they were doing in the forest to protect herself from getting in trouble.

Has anyone ever purposely told a false story of you? What about lied about something that you went through? There are a lot of people who have experienced the same problem. There is fictional person who has gone through the same problem. What are the chances you have heard of the famous “Alice In Wonderland”?
Deceit is often embodied in particular characters in various works of literature. A character can have selfish motives for lying or they can lie out of compassion. In A Streetcar Named Desire, Stella and Blanche both lie to protect themselves and allow them to have a happy life. In Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Oskar and his grandfather Thomas Schell lie to protect the ones they care about. Both works show dishonest characters developing in different situations that shown no intent for spite but rather concern for themselves or a loved one.
Myrtle. Myrtle, before her death, is another example of being unfaithful. She lies to Wilson
Vera is a manipulative and deceitful person because she is always making up lies to framton. The one lie that was the worst lie was about her aunt when she said “her great tragedy happened just three years ago”.she tricks framton to believe her stories of lies and also say that “In the meantime you must and try to put up with me”. When she says that you must try to put up with me that wasn't a lie. “The child was staring out through the open window with dazed horror in her eyes” the author expresses her fun and games through her lies.

In The Open Window, Vera is a manipulative and deceitful little girl. How i know this is because she tells wild stories that's not true: “they were engulfed in a bog and killed them”. Framton believed this story because she's manipulative and deceitful. “Sometimes on still quiet evenings like this i almost get a creepy feeling that they will walk through the window”. Vera said this to add on to her ridiculous story and to get framton sitting on the edge of his seat.
