Goals My grades this semester have been satisfactory, but I think they could improve. My short-term goal for this semester is to get straight A’s. All my life I have primarily been a straight A student and it comes to my surprise that earning an A in college is a lot harder. Halfway through the semester I had straight A’s but now I have two B’s. I think this has a lot to do with my lack of motivation to study hard and complete assignments both on time and effectively. I hope to end the semester with a strong finish and to do this, I plan on studying more than just the night before the test and put more effort into my assignments, no matter how much I may not want to. I will also utilize tutoring in the classes I am struggling with and ask …show more content…
Although I am very good at math and science, writing has never been my strong suit. I find myself desperate for motivation every time I have an essay coming up. Ever since my senior year of high school, finding the correct words and coming up with ideas to write about give me some sort of anxiety. I plan to become better at writing papers by working harder to find motivation and by beginning writing far in advance, so I can come up with several ideas and give myself plenty of time to revise my paper before it is due. I can also utilize outside sources by getting the help of my English professor and using the Writing Center. My teacher can give me one-on-one tips about improvements I can make to my writing and the Writing Center can read over my paper once I am finished and give me suggestions on what I can fix. I think that it will require a lot of time and effort, but will pay off in the long run. A long-term goal of mine is to transfer to Goldfarb School of Nursing next spring. Although the nursing program typically requires two years of coursework at Lindenwood University, I already have so many credits that I don’t need to. I plan to do this by taking extra classes over this spring and next fall semester and also by taking classes over the summer. I know it will take a lot of hard work, but I believe I can do it. I am excited to jump into the field of nursing and become one step closer to beginning my
I am a 17-year-old junior at Port Saint Lucie High School. I plan on graduating with high honors and getting scholarships for college. When I graduate, I don’t plan on “taking a break” I plan on enrolling to a four-year college. I want to study in the medical field. I’m planning on majoring in being a nurse, or a registered nurse or a paramedic. My top two choices for colleges are located in Boston Massachusetts which are Northeastern University and Boston University. While being in college I also plan to have a part time job that will help me pay all my expenses.
During World War II, the United States government published various propaganda posters to help build national pride and gain American’s support to the war effort. One theme that the government focused on was persuading people to purchase war bonds in efforts to “remove money from circulation and reduce inflammation” (U.S War Bonds). When Americans invested in the war effort by purchasing the bonds, the value of them would increase over time. War bonds were a voluntary loan made by everyday Americans on the home front to the government in order to help fund the war and protect the nation’s security. They were seen as a moral act of patriotism. The three posters from above portray the message of buying war bonds during World War II. The authors of these propaganda posters used words and images to provoke the feelings of bravery, sacrifice, and commitment when persuading Americans to purchase war bonds in order to help
Some people say that with dedication, persistence, and time people can accomplish any goal. Others say that people are limited in what they can accomplish and need to be realistic when setting goals.
Staged in different time periods, in different cultures, with modified roles, and in any other creative way, Shakespeare’s plays have been interpreted in many diverse ways. Everyone knows the interpretation of The Taming of the Shrew as teen movie 10 Things I Hate About You and the more famous West Side Story, which parallels Romeo and Juliet. Although most of these modern movies have a purpose to entertain, each adaptation adds a new, unique layer to the overall meaning of Shakespeare’s play. Moreover, a person can not grasp the full meaning of the play without the assistance of a full production.
To start off, in this last quarter of the school year, I want to accomplish the three goals I want to accomplish for the final quarter. My first goal I want to accomplish is getting A’s and A+’s in Math, Science, and Commarts class. Also I want to accomplish this goal because I struggle when it comes to handing it homework to get the grades I am hoping for the final quarter. Although when it is time for her too put my grades in the grade book it is a C, D, of F. I will have to accomplish doing my homework with my mom and in team study with Mr.Morgan so I get A’s and A+'s for my grades. To add on, my second goal I want to accomplish is turning in my homework right away not at the last minute. I want to accomplish this goal because, I struggle
As a child and even as a teenager one tends to make dreams and set goals for life. On occasion these goals are far stretched and sometimes even fairy-tale like, we tend to see life through a rose-colored glass, not taking into account the many sidetracks life throws our way. At that stage in life our goals tend to be less focused and somewhat unreachable. However, the process of growing up, or maturing, tends organized and center our goals, we learn to make compromises and set goals for our goals. There are different types of goals, short term and long term. I have learned to separate the many goals I have into three main categories: family, professional and personal.
When I started my first semester of college, I was very worried about writing essays and research papers. I felt like my writing skills lacked greatly compared to other students. I knew a few things of which I could improve on right off the bat, such as my vocabulary skills and organizational skills. To say the least I was very nervous about how my writing composition course would be like and did not think it would go very well for me. However, I learned so many techniques that have helped my writing skills grow. It all started with learning how to stay organized, planning what to write in your essay in outline form and sticking to it really helped when writing essays. These techniques helped me become more confident in my essays and allowed writing essays to become a lot easier. The few aspects in which I am strong in while writing essays is my ability to stay organized, focused and be very clear about what I am writing. Nonetheless, there is always room for improvement; a few things that I can think of being grammar and punctuation due to no revising, embedding quotes smoothly, and citing sources correctly.
Out of the three goals, (Personal, educational, and professional) I chose two of the goals that I am focusing on and that is my personal and educational goals. For my personal goals, I want to create a big picture of what I plan to do in life. Then I want to break them down in order to reach my goals, then once I have them together, then I would start working on them to achieve them. For example(Specific and Measurable goals), I plan on finding a job that has great benefits and the best rate of pay, and one that does not require working on weekends(Monday-Friday only), and not working overtime.
One of the best ways to follow a successful path is to set goals for yourself. They are important to keep yourself on task and to get to a desired point of self fulfillment. The issue can be how to achieve goals in a successful manner. The issue is "Although people may desire or intend to attain some outcome, they are not committed to that as a goal until they are willing to invest affect, cognition, and behavior in attaining it" (Traci Mann, 2013). This is why it is important to have a set path on how to accomplish important goals. I have chosen three goals that I want to accomplish to demonstrate a Process known as SMART, to help accomplish them. There goals are that I want to finally earn a college degree(personal), I want to make it
Drawing characters, backgrounds, rims, cars, or trucks spends most of my pastime. In addition to drawing, I would also like to partake classes in Animation. Art directors earned $56,880 in 2000, and the highest 10% made more than $109,440 dollars. Artist work about 40 hours a week, but during busy periods, they work overtime to meet deadlines.
A person needs to achieve certain goals in one's life before you can call them successful. Success is to achieve goals, you have set. I have set certain goals I would like to achieve in my lifetime. Some of these goals are personal while others are professional. My professional goals in life are to find a good job that makes me happy, get a good education, find a job that makes enough money for me to support my family, and help people. Goals it is very important for me to receive a good education. Most job fields require a descent education. If I don't have an education I would not be able to function properly at the work place and I would not understand what to do. To maintain a good job that will make good money will require me to go
When I was 17 years old, my father was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Without a doubt it was an event which marked my life and helped me mature in many aspects. I witnessed how my father began to lose his cognitive functions like his ability to focus, changes in his personality, behavior and emotions. This was the first time that I felt interested in learning how the brain process the information and motivated to learn more regarding this disease in order to help him. After my father passed away, my mother fell into a depression so I began to search for ways to improve her emotional state by reading books and magazines on the subject.
My personal goal as a student at the University of Phoenix is to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management within the next two years. This goal is very important to me because of the impact it will have on my family, work and personal life. In my family it will set a positive example for my daughters, grandchildren, and youngest sister. My family has been a source of support throughout my years in college as I have pursued this degree while maintaining a full time job. Obtaining the degree will be an accomplishment not only for me but also for my family who has given me the encouragement to reach my goal. I would like for my grandchildren to remember their grandmother as a strong and educated woman.
The world we live in is becoming increasingly overpopulated due to migrates and births. With an increase in population, there will become a decrease in resources over time. Furthermore, not being able to provide the quality of life due to the decline of resources can create a war and an unbalanced world. There is no way this should be allowed to happen without a plan of action for the future due to the impact. Just because we can reproduce does not mean we should go overboard with it as well as we do not need to accept in this country all migrants. The overpopulated world will soon suffer from this impact due to the lack of food, energy, and jobs.
