My short-term (within 5 years) goal is to become Country-Head / CEO of Morningstar’s international business unit in Asia or Latin America, and build it into a profitable and sustainable organization. My long-term (within 10 years) goal is to become a CEO of Morningstar’s international business globally. Personally, I am passionate about teaching, acting, adventure sports and fitness. Even though my parents said they loved and had the best moments in Mexico, the opportunities were not the same as the here in the United States. My father had to struggle and worked extra hard in order to get money just so he was able to eat and that money wasn’t enough he said. What is your Grant Plan for your life? This question has been something that countless people have been asking me since I first began to have dreams and goals for myself. I am Rodolfo Gomez, an 18 year old student. My academic and career goals can be shortened with the following idea: I want to make the world a better place. I know it sounds cheesy, however I believe that small actions like educating the next generations, helping those in need and being generous to our neighbors do change the world for the better.

My lifetime goal is to become a Humanitarian, but my lifetime career is to become an advanced nurse with specialties in various areas (in particular, the emergency room specialty.) Becoming a Humanitarian appealed to me greatly when I realized how much my community and family played a major part in my success. Which helped me realized that aiding someone in their success, just as my community did in mines, was a task I would enjoy reciprocating to others. To achieve all this I need to start somewhere. I have both longterm and shortterm goals. To be successful I need a diploma, a degree, and many businesses. There are many goals I have to achieve to get there. I will make sure to not repeat mistakes by my friends, and family.

According to Brueggemann (2014)“Communities are natural human groups, networks, and associations of people related to one another by at least one common or compelling factor in more or less loosely linked forms of connection”(p.142). Communities are not only a place where a group of people cohabitate but a linkage among people sharing common interests and activities. In every community there are social workers that advocate on the behalf of the vulnerable and oppressed population. A social worker needs to become familiar with the communities that their clients reside in, to better provide local resources and aid to clients. In every community there are resources and assets that could be used to improve its social environment. For example, many communities have programs like the YMCA that promotes youth development and communication among people living in the community. In addition, a social worker that provides direct services to client needs to be aware of the resources available within the community and the population seeking the assistance. By identifying which people live in a certain community, social workers could develop cultural humility and have a better understanding of their client’s values, morals and heritage. Having this knowledge is crucial since some resources are specifically tailored to certain groups. My future dream job is to be the CEO of a company. I know that it will take a while to get there, so I am plan on studying business administration first, then, work my way up to the position that I want. In the future, I also want to be settled in a nice home where I can raise my future children, and living in Seattle, Washington. One goal that I wish to accomplish when I get older, is to buy my parents a house to give back for the sacrifices they have made for me, and for teaching me how to deal with the difficulties of life.
