Ethical Issues With Animal Testing

The experimentation of animals is very disagreeable in our society. It is cruel to animals and people with the work that goes into it. Testing on animals should be stopped because it is an unhelpful, unnecessary, and an expensive, time wasting, way of testing products.

There has been a lot of animal testing in the United States and thousands of animals already have been killed. In research and testing, animals are subjected to experiments that can include everything from testing new drugs, poisoning for toxicity testing, burning skin, causing brain damage, implanting electrodes into the brain, maiming, blinding, and other painful and invasive procedures. Animal testing should not be allowed to proceed because millions of animals are getting killed, the results aren't always right, and it is more expensive to test it on animals.

Protesting has been going around the world for many of years. Throughout many years of people boycotted agents a situation they believe, if a wrong or right. One of the biggest areas on where people gather around and protest is when they’re fighting agents animals testing. As well as the years has pasted on protesting on animals, it became more sires in increased in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Many cosmetics companies been testing on animals throughout the years there is also many that have not. The cosmetics line LUSH has been fighting over animals testing for over thirty years and will continue to fight for their right according to the company. When LUSH had first started the company had divided they didn 't ever wanted to test their product on animal. Not only fighting agents animals testing LUSH is also ego friendly; everything they use its plants, oil, and recycle. Since LUSH having to be agents animal testing, policies had created to work with the companies of cosmetics to end the cruelty of animals. The LUSH company say “ This can be done without animal testing …” and it true. LUSH is a company that all there product dills with ones skin to make them fell and look beautiful. If LUSH can test their products other than animals and still make your still looking good then, other cosmetics companies can do the same.

Animal testing is inhuman, and should be banned. Yes, animal testing has been around for a very long time, but it doesn’t mean we should still do it. Testing on animals should be banned because they are abused and hurt, most experiments involving animals are flawed, wasting the lives of the animal subjects, and more than 90% of animal testing fail once they reach human trials.

One more reason to think about outlawing animal testing is that it kills and hurts the animal used. The Humane Society International said that animal used in experiments are commonly forced to eat and inhale and are purposely burned and cut to study the healing process. Just in US labs over a 100 millions animals are burned, poisoned ,and abused. Animal testing, also known as animal experimentation, is the use of animals in research and development projects, usually for the purposes of determining the safety of substances such as food, cosmetics, and drugs. Research animals undergo procedures that can cause physical and psychological distress. Mostly, the animals are euthanized, or killed, after the experiments. However, many organizations such as PETA and the Animal Justice Project have brought up, and are fighting against the dangerous outcomes of animals as they undergo testing. As a result, the topic of animal testing has become a divided and controversial topic among individuals, questioning whether it is ethical and unnecessary or humane and necessary to the science development.

Testing human products, and substances, on animals is inhumane and should be banned worldwide, because animal testing is inefficient, it is very cruel to animals, and finally, it is wasteful. Animal testing should absolutely be banned and forgotten like other ancient medical practices.

If there was a chance to protect human lives, then wouldn’t you follow it? Biological research affecting animals has completely enhanced the health of humans, and by doing so, it has also benefited the entire human race. The cure for major diseases like cancer or asthma exist, due to animal testing. Despite the odds, some people might think that we shouldn’t abuse animals just for our own biological needs. Well, I for once disagree with them, I consider that animal testing should indeed continue because it develops medicine that protects human lives, there is a large supply of test subjects (a.k.a “animals”), and last but not the least it is cost effective. Firstly, animal testing gives researchers the ability to experiment and develop new drugs which enhance human health.

Through the years, animal experimentation has played a key role in leading to breathtaking discoveries in medicine, products, and cosmetics. However, what many people tend to forget are the numbers of animal subjects that have suffered serious harm during the process of experimentation. Each day across the United States innocent animals are used as test subjects for products that have little to no relevance importance. Animal testing has had many negative issues that accompany it in society. Debating over the animal rights movement has raised many questions and concerns for years. There is an ongoing controversy regarding if companies should stop testing their products on animals. Although animal research has been the cause of many medical breakthroughs, it is considered morally and ethically right to put animals in these kinds of situations. When considering how truly reliable the results of animal test are, and the expense of testing will help bring new light to the problem. By simply passing a policy will not only address this issue but will help better products and medicine in the future.

About 1.4 million animal die each year from animal testing.They are treated in harsh way and in poor conditions. Innocent animals are killed and if not they are tourchered. They should have the right to live freely. Although animal testing can be very useful, it harms lot of animals when there could be alternatives.

Before releasing a drug, many studies and tests must be done to legalize it. One question that many people have is; how do you know if this drug will work? Well we test these drugs on animals, such as monkeys which have similar tissue to humans. This is one example of animal cruelty. Animal testing should be banned because it is inhumane, most of the testing on animals does not benefit humans, and animals bodies work differently than humans.

Animals such as rats, reptiles, and sometimes even dogs are used for products we use on a daily basis such as medicine, cosmetics, and hygiene products. According to procon.org, research animals have been practiced on since at least 500 BC. That’s a long time and “Physician-scientists such as Aristotle, Herophilus, and Erasistratus performed the experiments to discover the functions of living organisms,” states procon.org. Animal testing should be forbidden because it is unethical and not right to torture these innocent creatures who have as much of a purpose as humans do in this world.
