Cursive Writing Scientific studies show that writing in cursive “promotes hand-eye coordination, visual, fine motor and memory skills” (Cooper). People do not want cursive in school because paper and pencil cursive writing is done in school only and is useless outside of school. On the other hand, people believe cursive writing should be in school because it allows children to read historical documents like the Declaration of Independence. Cursive writing should be taught in school.

My personal stand on the topic may stem from the fact that I was made to take cursive writing, not only alongside my entire class...I was also one of the lucky students who was terrible at handwriting, so they gave me seperate, extra classes to improve both my print and cursive.

Cursive Did you know cursive takes away core subjects like Math and Reading? Well, it does and that’s bad because that means you could make you less smart. In my opinion, cursive writing should not be taught today. First, it takes too much time. Second, it’s frustrating for parents. Lastly, you can gain a life skill because cursive might be easy for you when you grow up.

Many people blame the “Common Core” which finalized in 2010. Cursive is a standard writing skill that has been taught for many years.

Suzi Allan sought help at her son’s school after hearing from his teacher that his handwriting needed some work. She was wondering when the kids would learn cursive writing and was told by the teacher that the school wasn’t offering it. Something needed to be done. I remember when I studied in a private school at India, we had to learn cursive. It was not an optional, it was a must and we were pretty much was graded on how neat/good you write it. Personally, I think cursive is very neat, elegant, and rich looking and I believe it helps you get a good handwriting too.

Should cursive be put back in school? I agree with the passage "Cursive Is a Powerful Brain Tool". Cursive writting is essential,though not for the reasons people might guess. Cursive writting has been proven to be good for our minds. A couple of reasons why i agree that cursive writting is good for the brain are writing by hand helps people to remember ideas better than typing. Also, medical brain scans show that writing in cursive helps with motor-skills development and stimulates both the right and left part of the brain.

Cursive In 3rd grade summer school the first thing they showed us was cursive. Did you even know that hand writing is 50% of literacy? Or that it helps us write faster? Which is helpful for when we go to college. If we don’t learn cursive how on earth are we supposed to sign are name? Honestly in my opinion cursive should be taught today. It should be used in everyday life.

A big controversial question in schools today, is, "Should cursive writing be taught." Many people can not honestly answer this question. There a many factors in which why and why not it should be taught in the schools in the twenty-first century. Here, is my imput on why and why not it should be taught.

Writing in cursive not only teaches you another way to write, it helps the brain and it allows students to memorize things better. It is a fact that cursive handwriting is better for our health.

What would it look like if cursive didn't even exist? Cursive writing should still be taught in school. Teaching cursive is needed for many things, mostly for enhancing your brain. Although people have computers and things that don't always need the use of paper and pen, cursive is still a very needed skill. In the following paragraphs, I will tell you why.

Cursive should still be taught today because. I have never seen one person not write in cursive when they get a job or just have to sign something. My mom and dad write in cursive all the time even if they are just writing down a note. I asked her why she writers in cursive she said she can write faster and neater. In my opinion, I think it should still be taught because now days most adults are writing in cursive.
