Should Gay Marriage Be Legal? Why should gay marriage be legalized? Gay marriage is wrong & disrespectful to god. The institution of marriage is a tradition between a man and a woman, not two men or two women. Marriage is already threatened with high divorce rates (between 40% and 50%) and with 40.6% of babies being born to unmarried mothers. Allowing gay marriage would weaken the institution. Gay marriage could also mess up a lot of cultures, like those that believe in polygamy, which means a marriage that includes more than one partner. It could also affect other nontraditional relationships. AIDs and STDs are only two of the many diseases you can catch by having homosexual activity, like colon and rectal cancer, and hepatitis. In 2006 the result in sexually transmitted AIDs of male to male sexual contact was 82 percent. Homosexual behavior also leads to a shorter life span by about eight to twenty years. You can’t change the way someone feels about another person. If a man wants to marry another man then let them do so, as well as if a woman wanted to marry another woman. They clearly love each other, so why step in the way of that. It’s not right but it’s just the way things are. If I were a homosexual, (which I’m not) I would be upset that I couldn’t marry the person that I really loved because of what another person thinks about it. People have their own opinion on what they do and are going to do what they feel is right but….. According to christian belief, god made Adam a man and then made Eve a woman. He gave adam a woman, not a man, so that race can maintain. For thousands of years homosexuality has been a sin or misconduct in many, if not all, religions. But now we have reached a day in age where homosexuality is more out in the open than it has ever been before. Now, gay men and women fight for the right to be married. In Christianity, marriage is a life long commitment under god and practicing homosexuality is a major sin. How can a union, which is created for man and woman, under god, bond two partners
