Should Guns Be Allowed in America? To have a gun or to not have a gun, that is one political and social question in America today. Guns are a big part of the America history and culture. However, there is a clash between people who want guns in America and those who do not. People who want guns in America say there is a need for them and that they are necessary for protection, for hunting, and because American citizens have the right to bear arms. People who do not want guns in America say that if there are no guns there will be less crime and that guns will not go into the hands of bad people. Both sides are adamant about their position. However, guns should be allowed in America because of two reasons. The first reason is that there is the second amendment and other amendments, that give Americans the right to bear, or be in the

The second amendment gives the right to bear arms. There are other things though, that state that guns should be allowed in America. For example, the Bill of Rights states that the government cannot ever get a monopoly over guns, therefore the government does not have the right to take guns away from American citizens. Additionally, the constitution and later amendments state that the government cannot have control over guns. The second amendment gives the right to bear arms to American citizens is clearly backed by the Bill of Rights, the constitution, and other amendments to ensure the citizens of the United States are able to stand against any government tyranny. This means that the right to bear arms is protected from the government being able to take it away. This leads to the second point which is that guns can be used as self-defense and in some cases militia. Sense the amendments give the right to bear arms, they can be used as
The Second Amendment states that "A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." This amendment guarantees an individual right to bear arms, an interpretation that was supported by the Supreme Court in its 2008 ruling in District of Columbia. V. Heller. This Bill of Right has always been one of the most debatable talking point in the United States for years. Many people did not understand it, others did not pay too much attention, and it was not often used it in court. The Second Amendment is
The second amendment gives the people the right to own and have guns in their possession.
United States is a country that has problems with gun control, and this issue has many debates between whether or not people should be allowed to carry a gun on them. This free county not only for speech and religion, but also allows people to have the right to bear arms. The Second Amendment of the United States was written by our Founding Fathers,“A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed” (Government). The main purpose of the Second Amendment when our Founding Fathers wrote this amendment was to help the American citizens to defend themselves from the government at that time, and other countries from invading their properties. However,
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." These are the words of the second amendment in the United States Constitution. The amendments guarantee america citizens the right to bear arms. This right grants men have the right to bear arms their for protection or for the militia they were served in. This amendment today should grant all civilians to own guns.
The second Amendment gives the citizens the right to bear arms or to protect themselves.
The second amendment of the constitution states, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” (Cornell Law) For over fifty years, the amendment has been interpreted to the courts that people individually do not have the right to own gun, but rather that this right is to be regulated by legislatives on the federal,
The Second Amendment to the Constitution gave United States citizens the right to bear arms. Although, the Second Amendment stated: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms. However, the framers could not foresee the type of violence we have in our cities today. Innocent citizens have and are being brutally killed due to this amendment. Stricter gun control laws must be enacted to receive these types of weapons.
The Second Amendment states that “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed”.1 It is important to understand that the Second Amendment was created in order to allow the American people to form militias in response to a tyrannical government attempting to suppress the American way of life. In order for Americans to form militias, they must uphold their freedom to bear arms as a
The second amendment was likely created because while Britain had ruled America, there was a standing army in the colonies. The Americans no longer trusted standing armies. Instead, they had they had state militias that made up of volunteers. This is important because it helps insure that tyranny will not occur by spreading out the privilege of governing military forces to officials that are elected by the people. The second right protected in the second amendment is the right to bear arms. There is has been much debate over the meaning of this part of the amendment. While some people believe that owning guns protects the right to self-defense, others think that, unlike the time that this bill was passed, personal gun are not necessary to Americans’
The second amendment states that A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. The idea behind the second amendment was a simple one, if you take guns away from the people then if you have a dictator then you can protect yourself against them. If you look at history most major dictators have taken guns away from the people. This is why the second amendment was so important to our founding fathers, because it would make it so the government could become authoritarian on its people and turn the country into a police state. The words “shall not be infringed” are very important, it signifies that no one, not even the federal government has the right
Allowing the government to have power over gun control is a careless mistake, we use guns for many things including the loss of tradition of hunting, not being able to protect ourselves, and simply because of the second amendment. Owning a gun is a privilege just as much as a right so people should definitely use it responsibly. If people can not use it right then they should not own one, but everyone should be allowed or given the
Who will obey gun control laws? Will the criminals? Will the drug dealers? Will the removal of guns help protect schools, colleges, theaters, clubs, or other buildings? Who will give up their guns if a law is passed?
One of the amendments of the constitution is the right to bear arms. This allows many to protect themselves as well as defend against an abusive government. Many supporters of the second amendment believe that without the right to bear arms, the government would be free to control the
The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution reads: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” The constitution is clearly saying all citizens have the right to be able to own and carry a weapon or firearm. On June 26, 2008, in District of Columbia v. Heller, the United States Supreme Court held in a 5-4 decision that the Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to possess a firearm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home and within federal enclaves (Cornell 1). This is showing how our founding fathers supported the right to bear arms.
Look at the history of America and the role guns have placed in it. Gun ownership is perfectly legal and guaranteed as a right according to the second amendment. There were and still are good reasons that these are practiced today. Since guns were discovered, they have been used for hunting and the occasional self-defense. when settlers were tired of the British’s rule, they picked up their guns and went to war. The British then saw how powerful american gun owners were. Our forefathers knew that the average population, if armed, would be the reason they won the war, and it did.
