Homeschooled kids should be allowed to play in public school sports. Everyone should be allowed a chance to prove themselves, no matter what. No matter where they are from, no matter what they do, no matter even if they are homeschooled! If this was you, not getting a chance to prove yourself. What would you do? Would you want to make your mark on the world?

Everyone knows academics are the main point of school, but athletics have begun to take over and draw away from that focus. Many individuals believe school sports are more important than ever; however, cost is excessive and players often think about upcoming games or matches, detracting attention from homework. Therefore, districts should eliminate after-school sports because they cost tremendous amounts of money, cause academic failure, and are a major distraction.

Having homeschoolers playing in public schools is a great idea. In the state of Virginia, we want the best for our children. Homeschoolers should not have to go to the public school in their zone to play sports. They should have the right to try out a sport in public school. Allowing homeschoolers to play sports in public schools give them the choice to interact with their teammates. Studies show that activities such as sports help children to manage their time more. I also had to think about the children that goes to the public school. It seems unfair to let homeschoolers to be on the team when they don’t even go to the school. This is why I will make requirements for the homeschoolers if they want to tryout for the a sport in the public school
6th graders should be allowed to participate in school sports just as 7th and 8th graders. Reasons we should participate in school sports are, kids can get even more fit and strong than just being in gym, another one is people can challenge each other in competitions, my final one is that children can be incredibly better along with teamwork and leadership. This is why I think we should play in sports in 6th grade.
High school football is one of the most controversial topics in America. Every Friday night, millions of people gather to watch high school teams play the most popular sport in the country, American football. It is the most popular sport in America, but it is also one of the most dangerous sports. Some people think that it should be banned to protect these high schoolers. That would be denying these kids the right to play the sport they love, the sport that is not even the most dangerous high school sport in America.
America’s baseball diamonds, soccer fields, hockey rinks, and basketball courts have never been so busy with children. The number of kids involved in an organized sport is not what is so groundbreaking. It’s the way in which children are playing or how their parents are arranging for them to play that may be cause for concern (Ferguson). Much controversy surrounds youth sports with the biggest disagreements coming over parental involvement and the intensity of play. Although there are many benefits for team participation, there is a growing fear that the negatives are starting to outweigh the positives.
Dating back to 1892, a new threshold in American sports history was achieved. The Allegheny Athletic Association had defeated the Pittsburgh Athletic Club. More importantly, William Heffelfinger was paid $500 to participate on the AAA team, thus birthing Professional Football. As the years passed, American Football has seen an exponential progression, including the introduction of children’s football associations. While there is a numerous group of parents who have no problem with their child being involved in football, recent revelations would begin to grow concern in some. It is because of this we must ask, should parents disallow their children from participating in football, or should they focus on the more positive benefits that the organized sport could have?

Do you have a passion, something you love to do more than anything? Imagine people trying to stop you from doing what you love because they think it’s not useful or a waste. Some people say competitive sports cost too much and they are way too dangerous for young kids to participate in. However, for many youth, competitive sports play a positive role. When kids play competitive sports, they are happier and they learn how to be healthy. Also, they learn life lessons that they will need for the future.
The first reason that kids should not play competitive sports is that they are stressful. Kids who play competitive sports often experience stress from wanting the recognition involved with winning. According to LiveStrong, “The mounting pressure to play well can increase stress and make children feel bad and lose confidence should they make mistakes or lose” (Huggins 2017). This shows that kids want to win and be the best player on the team, which can result in stress or pressure. When kids are put on the bench or the team loses, the players may experience low self-esteem. Also, participating in a competitive sport also takes up time because of the intense training schedule that is demanded. Because of that, kids may stress about schoolwork or other activities. This can develop failing grades or other consequences. Time.com states, “Student-athletes tend to take easier classes and get lower grades than non-athletes” (Square 2015). This is important to notice because the intense schedules that the athletes have may not allow enough time for schoolwork. The schoolwork may not be completed or fully understood, which can lead to lower academic excellence and poor grades. Competitive sports are unhealthy to kids’ minds. They can cause stress and pressure, and may lead to poor grades and other academic issues.
