Should Ownership of a Gun Be in Control? In America most houses have a gun. In realization, guns are what people feel that will protect them. The second Amendment states, “A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed” (Sanford). That phrase has been around for a long time, telling us how we are able to keep our guns as we please. Even though Guns are able to protect a person and make people feel they are safe in a stressful situation, many people don’t have the mentality to own a gun because of their knowledge of how much guns can hurt a person; for recreational needs such as hunting, and they have criminal records that will force them to not have guns. Guns are very harmful thing, they could potentially kill a person or hurt them really bad. Many people have different views on if guns should be controlled, and not meaning controlled by the president. In many aspects I personally believe that guns should be closely watched by the government to know who should have them and who should not. I would not want a murderer on the street trying to kill more people, there is a point to which we can control that and know that we will be safe. In consequence my opinion on if guns should be controlled based on the person, should be in effect to keep everyone else safe.
