Performance-Enhancing Drugs should not be allowed in today’s sports. Today`s athletes are looking for an advantage over there competition that will help them be winners. There here have been several debates about allowing athletes to use Performance-Enhancing Drugs, but personally, I think the commissioners of all sports are doing a fantastic job of not allowing it to be legal. Performance-Enhancing Drugs can be regarded in four classes: androstenedione, creatine, anabolic steroids, and ephedra alkaloids. If athletes take these kinds of drugs, they gain an advantage on their opponent. They`ll rather take the easy way out by using steroids to strengthen their muscles faster. Nowadays, adults are giving their children steroids to help them grow faster. One of the many growth industries in the medical enhancement field involves recombinant growth hormone. Better known as (rHGH), used to add highly desired inches to the final height of children who would otherwise be abnormally short. Endocrinologists and ethicists used to claim that it would be immoral to treat a child for this purpose unless he or she had a certified disease, such as growth hormone deficiency. These drugs can also be abused by athletes. They`ll get so comfortable in taking steroids, that they`ll make it a habit and start hurting themselves. It is stated that most, if not all athletes doping agents have potential short-term and/or long-term side effects. Despite continuing methodological developments to detect drug use and associated punishments for positive drug tests, there are still many athletes who choose to use performance and image enhancing drugs.
