Should our school become a year round school? I do not think that our school should because people in year round do not get a good summer break. It is not fair to the students or teachers.
Their summer break isn't fair to the students or teachers because...
1. The students don't get a good break like in regular schools. Also if your mom is like mine they will still be doing school work to prepare for the next year. I know that is good but still because of the shorter break you really aren't going to forget anything. I mean like it's just a month seriously. Why even have a break at all.

One teacher said ‘"I don't feel nearly as burned out because of the way we spread the breaks out"' (Learning That Lasts). The nine weeks in school then three weeks out gives teachers a lot of time to plan for the upcoming nine-weeks and time to relax. Another statement about the teacher's point-of-view of the new schedule, ‘"teachers who work for year-round schools say that it gives them a break when they are on the verge of a breakdown"' (Long). Teachers have an amazing job by giving children their education. However, it can be tiring having to do everything they have to do within a day to a week or even a month. The teachers are one of the top people in the school that need a break. With the new schedule, teacher work days are placed when they are most needed, at the end of the nine weeks. This gives them time to finish grading and lesson planning before their breaks are half-way over. In fact, the schools who use the Year Round schedule have a lower staff turnover rate (Long). Overall, teachers are happier and more relaxed when there is a YR schedule rather than a traditional
Why is a year-round school a bad idea? Having a summer vacation gives students motivation throughout the school year. It is a bad idea to make our winter break longer than summer break because some students work over the summer, students are not getting the best education they could, and they will not have much time to spend with their family.
