Why should sports players get paid more than soldiers? Sports players risk not only their lives, just as soldiers do too, but also the future of their career. Imagine risking your life, your future, and your whole family on a everyday basis. This is the life of all sports players. Most people are always biased on this topic because they have friends or family members serving in the military or simply because people are willing to go into war for the love of their nation. Although most people may be biased, there are many reasons why sports players should be paid more and why they are paid more.

First of all, professional athletes are entertainers. “Much like movie stars or any other celebrity that brings in multimillion dollar salaries, they are paid to entertain” (Are Most Professional). Just like a movie or concert you go to, you have to buy a ticket to a professional sports game and then you are entertained for a few hours. All these industries fall under the same category: entertainment. Since movie stars and singers get paid millions of dollars every year, why shouldn’t athletes get the same pay? They actually should get paid more than movie stars and singers since their line of work is much more dangerous and straining on the body.
